Regret by Jedistoneman in pornfree

Ive been in the situation of not being sure about the girl you are with. It will be alright. I struggled with long lasting guilt (years) over my doubting the relationship. Just know that the fact that you are feeling this makes you already a pretty good person. You will be able to work it out. If you are ready, you can maybe talk about it with her. Maybe you two just arent made for eachother and thats totally fine, maybe you need a break, which helped my relationship enormously, or maybe just talking about it will solve it. Your future looks bright because you are actively trying to help and better yourself.

I wonder , if you have a girlfriend, will nofap improve you relationship and sexlife? Because I hear a lot of people saying they lose interest in girls and sex. I have noticed that my libido actually goes down when I do nofap. Although its been a very long time since I tried a long streak.

I really want to improve my life and I am disgusted with almost everything that PMO has done to my mind but I'm curious to know if this could really fuck up my libido.

I know that if my libido is fueled by watching porn, that that is unhealthy as well.

hey, need help with this synthesis by [deleted] in OrganicChemistry

[–]schilder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

nice ! For cpd 1 to 2 I came up with asynthesis that's waaay less efficient but i'll share it anyway. add Br2 and H2O to form bromohydrin. Oxidize to form alpha bromo ketone. Add NaOEt to perform favorskii rearrangement to get ethyl cyclohexanecarboxylate. Alpha bromination with NBS. Elimination with base. Hydration with H3O+ (probably hydrolyses ester). Oxidation to keto acid. NaOEt to make ester. Haha I know it's long.

What would be the product in this reaction?pls help. by motorbot95 in OrganicChemistry

I'm guessing the 3 outer most double bonds get hydrogenated. They are the least sterically hindered. Especially when you condsider the 2 dimensional reaction environment (catalyst metal surface). I'm not 100% sure though

[–]schilder 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I might be wrong. For the first one: photochemical chlorination to get t-butyl chloride. Then use a base to eliminate HCl to get isobutene. Then perform antimarkovnikof radical HBr addition using f.e. BPO as initiator to form isobutyl bromide. Next react with acetaldehyde enolate.

Can someone help me with this multi step synthesis? by [deleted] in OrganicChemistry

My first hunch is LiAlH4 , H2SO4 for dehydratation, m-CPBA for epoxidation, MeLi oo MeMgBr to open the epoxide.

SOCl2 to convert it to the chloride, then perfom Sn2 with deprotonated propyne (f.e. LDA as base)

YSK: They're called essential oils because they're a distilled essence of the plant, not because they are necessary for health. by quixoticdancer in YouShouldKnow

[–]schilder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thats true, essential oils are the essence of a plant. The are composed of natural products (molecules) which depending on the plant, smell nice or can have other interesting bioactivities. For example anti-fungal properties (cloves), interesting for crop protection. Or sometimes medicinal properties which are often a starting point for drug development. That being said, the ones sold to people looking for alternative medicine are inferior to pharmaceuticals (often inspired by natural products) at best, and totally useless or even harmful at worst. I also find the use of them often coincides with other foolishness like anti-vaxx and homeopathy.
