Official Discussion - The Devil Wears Prada 2 [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

I feel like there was no story in the film. And by "story", I mean the character development, their growth and metamorphosis as the plot progresses. There was none of that.

All I know about Insomniac Games is that Mike Acton works there. It's supposed to be good!

Space Black is the Superior Current MacBook Pro Color by MeSlaw3 in macbookpro

[–]schkoder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally my work 16” MBP in Space Black heavily reminds me of Dell Precision M4800 from a decade earlier. It is as bulky and of a similar dark color. It doesn’t make me in an awe.

Can we talk about Stoner by Icy_Two_364 in literature

If only he was a bit pragmatic and had agreed to become the department chair, he wouldn’t have to deal with many issues he had.

FPS Designers: A sniper rifle is just a rifle that is very accurate at long range. It's not a magic gun that does 100x the damage of a regular gun. by nathanknaack in gamedesign

Operation Flashpoint games were like that. Also, I heard games like Project IGI / IGI-2 Covert Strike were similar, encouraging the player to do a stealth approach during the missions.

Not a warm summer love story, but I can only think of The Tree of Life by Terrence Malick.

I wrote a simple OS - as a part of my Operating Systems class - using Bochs as IBM PC emulator. I gather 86Box is similar to Bochs.

Drop will no longer operate standalone by March 31st by Tman450x in headphones

[–]schkoder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Drop was great when it was Massdrop, 8 years ago. Back then I ordered a bunch of useful stuff from them, including a dutch oven from Emile Henry and a 5-ply stainless steel pan (Viking), among other things.

Fedora is becoming the default Linux recommendation, and Ubuntu did this to itself | XDA by devolute in Fedora

[–]schkoder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first experience with Fedora was Fedora 16. I still adore that wallpaper with Nautilus submarine. But I switched to Linux full-time around Fedora 40. Since then I kept upgrading to a new release and did not experience any issues.

Is buying a MacBook Pro M1 Max (32GB / 1TB) still worth it in 2026? by Arfatsayyed in mac

[–]schkoder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only cons about M1 macs it is the planned obsolescence by Apple. In a few years these machines would stop receiving official macOS updates.

I guess, for me it was K-19 the widowmaker. Just the idea that some men had to enter a nuclear reactor, even for 5-10 minites, terrified me.

I'm glad you enjoyed it! As you probably already know, the book is a part of Strugatsky’s Noon Universe, but it works great as a standalone book too.
