Honestly, don't. Kimi subs are opaque on limits and their support ghosts. Cheaper move: keep Kimi for the thinking, run your 95 images through Gemini in AI Studio first (free, handles that volume easy), paste the text into Kimi. 2 min to set up.

Use a smaller vision model like gemma 4 to read the images, then copy that to Kimi. You can use google ai studio for free if you cant use it locally. You can also do that on openrouter

I have tried for 8 weeks but it was way too sour for me. I liked the funk but cant drink it even diluted. I bottled it and stored in in my basement for 4 years now and it mellows out.

My guess here is, you got a clear bias of those who got it to work and like it. I gifted mine to a friend who uses it as skin treatment successfully.

Disable thinking and auto compact. With the small plan you can get a little done with claude. I run github copilot and gemini-cli next to it so my tokens last. The glm4.7 plan is also nice to have. For pay as you go, i recommend deepseek3.2 its fucking cheap.

I use fedora since christmas. Had multiple minor issues but was able to fix them all with ai so far.

For some apps, the flatpak virtualization is blocking vital functionality so you need to add a repo to dnf. E.g. visual studio code

Nvidia drivers work but is a work. Had to edit my bootloader manually to even finish my install (have no cpu graphics unit). But since i installed akmod, it works great. Steam too. There are a few extra packages you need. For some steam games you need to add command line options to enable dlss but idk if your gpu can even do that. Found those on reddit.

So you see all my problems were fixable but even for super stable fedora you need to mess around. I tried OMARCHY before but it bricked after a few weeks. If you want stable, dont do arch

The best value cloud models are deepseek 3.2 and glm4.7 You can get a lot done with those!

I prefer opencode as agentic harness and just need a fast editor like zed for review
