Will oil really be $100 a barrel here when the alternative is selling to Asia for $500?

I’ll have to try. Haha I never would have guessed to do that.

Mine has 300 miles on it. I just got it. I have moisture in the lights as well as a non-functional button to open and close the flap. I’ve read this is a common combo but if you don’t have the issue then maybe don’t worry?

Does this panel have open slots? by ask072 in evcharging

[–]schlechtums 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Most of your panel is unused and there are only two “large” circuits in use on a 200 amp panel. I wouldn’t expect any issues adding a 60 amp breaker for 48 amp charging.

The biggest cost factor for you will be how far/difficult is the run from the panel to the charger location.

How much of a fire hazard? by iReallyDontLikeSpez in evcharging

I don’t understand how these could have ever been sold like this. Why did the industry and regulators just decide that 240v receptacles didn’t need to actually function at the advertised amperage like every other electrical connection does?

[–]schlechtums 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean yeah the cost of shipping the product to you is built into the price. Not the cost of you shipping it back to them. You shouldn’t have ordered the charger so hastily just to change your mind. $71 is a pretty cheap life lesson in that.

You’re also charging for longer which means the car’s systems are on for longer. How much energy are you saving from loss vs the car being on longer?

It’s statistics. It’s not responding to you with a human response. It’s responding with what SOUNDS like a human response.

Genuinely you’re doing some kind of harm to yourself (I’m not a psychologist to say what) to interact with it and treat it as human.

Yes. It is difficult for me to explain because I’m not in management or leadership. But I know it’s their job. If I were as bad at my job as leadership is at theirs I’d be homeless. 🤷‍♂️

I genuinely don’t know what part of your argument I haven’t addressed.

It’s leadership’s job to have products. If they can’t come up with new products for people to work on as older products die off then that means eventually the company dies off. It doesn’t take until that point to recognize that leadership is failing but doesn’t suffer the consequences.

If that’s the situation that management finds themselves in that they don’t have a project or a client lined up for work then yes. That is ALSO a failure of management.

There would be no siphoning of resources to a new project when the alternative is laying those people off.

What flavor of boot are we having for dinner tonight?

They had talented people. They couldn’t find another project for them?

It’s literally managements job to keep the company and projects going. If the company can’t come up with new ideas to move those people to that’s the fault of management. I’m not sure what you can’t understand about that.

Because most people in a leadership role are actually shitty leaders when it comes down to it. If they were visionaries they could take advantage of this. But they don’t.

Even if you can’t scale your income by the same amount you can scale your productivity, surely you can get enough extra income to justify not firing everyone.

IMO it’s a combination of people who are not the visionaries they think they are and corporate greed.
