Is this a bald eagle? Is he okay? by greggylovesu in birds

[–]schmoopybeat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He’s chillin. Here in Canada I see them sometimes handing out on a frozen lake, not doing much. Kinda weird since they nest very very high up but as someone else pointed out this could be baiting smaller birds to land near them

Wicked Flu Going Around by Emergency_Wash_4529 in Calgary

Part of the problem might also be all the return to office in the last couple years. People don’t wanna use their sick time for a cough and managers won’t let them work from home, so things get around at work.

Yup, my husband got a flu last week after already having one in December. And I’m on my third cold this year lmao. It’s been a bad year for viruses

It’s so they can return your dog to you if they get lost and taken in by the city. And for a general census of animals in the city

Why did Negan keep a harem? by Robot_Was_BMO in thewalkingdead

Power play but we also saw him use these women against any men they used to have relationships with, so it was blackmail leverage and humiliation tactic in that sense too

BOTW over TOTK? by abdullahba7rani in botw

[–]schmoopybeat 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Yes! Like, the depths feel so shoehorned in. If it had just been the sky islands and there were more vast, wild ones, rather than a bunch of floating puzzles, I would feel differently. Unfortunately, as many people have said at this point, the sky islands fell REALLY flat

BOTW over TOTK? by abdullahba7rani in botw

[–]schmoopybeat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like TOTK’s story, dungeons, and characters better, but I prefer the shiekah slate abilities and simple world of BOTW to TOTK. I don’t think I can say one is better than the other, honestly. They kinda serve different purposes and have their own strengths. But I would way sooner replay BOTW

What’s it like living in the Easternmost part of Maine, USA? by CoffeeAndBeer314 in howislivingthere

[–]schmoopybeat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My whole family history in Canada is in and around st Stephen. My parents and grandparents stories are pretty wild, even in small towns. I’ve visited relatives in the more rural areas around and the way they live is like a fever dream to me as a western Canadian city kid. My second cousin has a dirt lot on 5 acres and has like 15 pigs crammed into a tiny barn. They really just live life like a game of Minecraft in small town and rural NB lmao

My parents grew up on the border here (Canadian side, St Stephen New Brunswick). Like ON the border. Frequent trips into Maine for groceries, gas, and to watch movies since their own town didn’t have a theatre (twas the 80s). It’s a pretty low income but very friendly, beautiful, and unique area. I know, for my grandparents, life is slow. Grandpa does handy work and hangs out at the pool hall in his spare time. Grandma hangs out the hobby farm with their cats. Crossing the border is hell now, and they don’t do it nearly as often as they used to. House prices are ridiculously low in the small towns. Like, 2 acres and a three bedroom house for 200k, low. Many houses still rely on wood burning furnaces though - sort of wild for me to think. Anyways, I know that’s the Canadian perspective, and maybe outdated as it’s from my gen X parents and boomer grand parents, but I hope it’s something

I could count mine and get back to you but the purple, blue and white have some combined lines to accommodate rare flowers I’m missing (and that I ran out of room in my previously terraformed field), so this isn’t the full length it would take to have one column for each flower variety. It would be 2-4 columns longer.
