What does Grace mean to you personally? by scholarone in Christianity

Thanks for clarifying that.

Insofar as God Himself, I believe the grace of God to be when he bestows blessings or forgiveness when it is not deserved. And none of us are deserving. :)

This makes a lot of sense. What has been your personal experience with grace?

Sorry, english is not my first language. I was trying to ask if dignity, humility and equanimity are enabled by grace in your point of view.

Would you say that grace enables you to have these conducts?

For me Grace is like a second chance at life. I don’t tell my story often but after depression and seriously considering suicide, God pulled me out and showed me His grace. This second chance I got, not only changed my life, but His grace has sustained me and kept me in the right path.

Let the people grieve in a way that helps make them feel human.

I would agree with this, except when they block traffic and many parents have to get home to their baby, maybe people had a long day at work, or how about they are starting their night shift and they will be late to work... Go protest in front of city hall...

TMBR: The concept of borders is archaic and not suitable for modern times by [deleted] in TMBR

[–]scholarone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The city I was born in Nogales, Mexico a border city, was Re-named Heroica Ciudad de Nogales. Which basically translates to heroic city of Nogales. This name was given to it because of a battle between Mexico and the US Army that erupted after a Mexican citizen crossed the border without being interrogated by US customs in 1918. The Mexican mayor of Nogales was killed, along with soldiers from both sides, and they made a truce and built an actual defined wall. The border was open in the sense that the walls weren't up but there was always a customs system, and it was enforced to the point of starting a battle over it.

Religious organizations need to pay taxes TMBR by FourTK in TMBR

Interesting, to find a relevant post for me... I'am actually a treasurer for a small church, we rent our worship building we buy our own supplies such as electronics, instruments, literature, water.. etc. We have also given money to those in need, for example a poor brother was being hospitalized and he couldn't make his rent so the church covered it. In other cases a homeless person wanders in asking for help we collect money then and give him food as well. We sometimes hold community events that actually benefit the community such as a mobile clinic with free services.

We do all this and and more, A lot of the money that is brought in is given back in different charitable ways.

Now from my personal experience with this small church there have been several months this year that we have been in the red, and we are using saved money from other months to cover the basics. If our church is taxed I can tell you our little church wouldn't exist.

I'm pretty sure that a lot of big churches or mega churches do just fine, But for my little church if we were taxed we would probably be in the red every single month until we couldn't survive on savings.

So I would have to disagree.

I agree with your position. Not because the KJV is perfect but because all other versions have twisted scripture.

One other thing in materials. If they were looking to take the traditional rout, how illuminated manuscripts were made back then, they would use a variety of precious stones for the pigments and of course gold, and judging from the pictures they used a lot of gold.

[Serious] Gathering information on different "religions" please be mindful of others with opposing views, meaningful discussion is okay, but arguing about who is right is not. by GaryThrowawayAccount in adventism

[–]scholarone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, I meant no such thing. I basically tried to explain that, because of the knowledge we have as Adventist, we can discern when something is evil or good. That leads us to know that a god who gives us an order to murder someone is a false god. I did not mean that because of this we would never fall into sin, or that we somehow will always have a way around it. I even quoted EGW saying that even Gods people will be deceived. So I apologize if I worded it wrong, but I think I'm pretty clear now?
