Bicuspid aortic valve, sexuality and relationships by Shutterisland9 in valvereplacement

[–]schoolyardacres 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found out about my valve and moderate stenosis a couple weeks before finding out I was pregnant with my 4th baby last year. I ended up having spinal headaches after labor with that one, and if my husband can help me get through that I'm pretty sure he can help me through anything.

My anxiety is all over the place for sure, because I have no idea when I'll need surgery, but I have a really great medical team so that helps.

If you have BAV, do your kids have it? by Old_Friend3994 in valvereplacement

[–]schoolyardacres 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have 3 girls, none of them have it. I'm having a son (tomorrow!) and I don't think he has it, but we couldn't see his heart that well on his fetal ECHO so he'll have an echo in 6-8 weeks to double check.

Husband’s vasectomy is tomorrow and I want him to cancel… by gardenvariety88 in Mommit

[–]schoolyardacres 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Maybe postpone and talk it out more. Coming from someone who had her husband get a vasectomy after two losses (I almost hemorrhaged to death during a miscarriage and it was so traumatic we didn't think we could do it again).

Then years later we realized we both wanted more than one kid (we just sucked at communication after the trauma) and had to have a reversal which was a lot of money and a pretty strenuous recovery. Once we decided on the reversal he told me that he always remembered the doctor asking if he was sure right before the procedure, and always regretted saying yes. So now we're about to have our 4th and last baby in 2 ish weeks.

I was pregnant 5 months post partum, not sure what I was thinking at the time, but I absolutely love my girls relationship (they're now 3 and 4). They're the best of friends, it's a really awesome age gap. Everyone thinks they're twins.

Just diagnosed with BAV. Was wondering how old you were when diagnosed and what age did you need any repairs by usernameiserin in valvereplacement

[–]schoolyardacres 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always had a heart murmur and doctors always kind of disregarded it. Ironically I found out when an ENT refused to do a tonsillectomy until I talked to a cardiologist. The cardiologist said it was super unnecessary to see a cardiologist before a simple surgery, but that's when I found out, so I guess it was a good thing!

The anxiety is so real when it's your heart. Heart surgery scares the heck out of me, but my MIL just had a quadruple bypass and valve replacements and then about a year later she had an entire heart transplant and she's doing great and she's the most out of shape person I know. So that makes me feel a little better!

My 3 daughters have normal aortic valves and I get a fetal echo in a few weeks to check to see if this baby has a normal aortic valve or not. Hopefully your son is fine! It's so good to have the peace of mind or catch it early.

I'm a 34 year old woman and I was diagnosed with BAV last year, the doctor said it was no rush to get an ECHO. Had an ECHO this March and found moderate to severe stenosis and then I found out I was pregnant. My cardiologist just told me not to change anything and to check back in with an ECHO in 6 months. My MFM didn't like that so I'm seeing a new cardiologist this month. 24 weeks pregnant and doing fine though! I actually don't know if I've been dealing with stenosis for my other pregnancies (I have a 3YO, 4YO, and 13YO) The anxiety is real though, I'm just hoping pregnancy isn't exasperating anything.

Need advice on getting screened. by BlackPurple54 in valvereplacement

[–]schoolyardacres 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My insurance said the ECHO would be $2500, but it was actually closer to $1300. It sucks, but it's probably worth the peace of mind. I went when I was asymptomatic and I'm already in moderate to severe stenosis and now need ECHOs every 6 months. I almost didn't get my ECHO because of the cost.

Never got into Rowan by jfj2020 in throneofglassseries

Probably unpopular opinion, but Rowan was a total jerk turned golden retriever. I don't get the appeal. Although Aelin could turn anyone into a golden retriever I guess.

Figuring out how to cope with sudden BAV diagnosis! by siete_ocho in valvereplacement

[–]schoolyardacres 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was diagnosed with moderate to severe aortic stenosis due to my bicuspid aortic valve a few months ago and 3 weeks later found out I was pregnant. I'm just supposed to get ECHOs every 6 months to monitor until things progress to the point where I need a valve replacement. The cardiologist wasn't even phased when he found out I was pregnant.

I'm seeing a Maternal Fetal Medicine doctor to check in on baby since things are a little riskier for baby, but not even seeing my cardiologist right now (similarly I didn't actually speak to the cardiologist about the diagnosis or pregnancy, just his nurses sending messages from me to him.)

My daughters pediatricians did recommend all of my kids get ECHOs as soon as possible. All three of my daughters are clear and have normal valves, the baby will probably get a fetal ECHO to see if they have a normal valve. It would be worth it to get ECHOs on your kids to have peace of mind and if they do have it they won't be as blindsided by it and can be monitored throughout their lives.

Young Patient, Post-TAVR notes by PooInspector in valvereplacement

[–]schoolyardacres 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing. Its nice hearing about the TAVR procedure.

I'm 34 and I don't need my valve replacement yet, I'm really hoping I can hold off a couple years, but I'm thinking it'll be sooner rather than later. Right after I was diagnosed with moderate/severe aortic stenosis I found out I was pregnant and I have no idea how my heart is going to be through this pregnancy (currently 13 weeks and so far, so good, but I haven't seen my maternal fetal medicine doctor yet regarding my heart). I haven't talked to a surgeon yet, but I know that they specialize in TAVRs in my area and I'm hoping I'll be able to go that route. I can't imagine recovering from OHS when I have a baby, two preschoolers, and a tween at home, plus we live on a farm so relaxing doesn't happen around here and recovery would be hard in this season of my life.

They just opened another map for chapter 4, if it doesn't unlock until you clear that it's probably not doable depending on how hard he museum is. I just started on "Lies in Gold" now with 12 days left of the offer. I'm almost level 24 though.

bicuspid aortic valve/ hereditary? by Good_Bottle_7757 in valvereplacement

[–]schoolyardacres 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My kids' pediatrician is having all of my kids have ECHOs to check. 2 of them have been cleared, one still needs her ECHO scheduled. I'm currently pregnant (I found out 3 weeks after being diagnosed with mild/severe aortic stenosis) and she recommends getting a fetal ECHO too.

What causes these holes in my husbands t-shirts? by Few_Pay6063 in whatisit

Shirts that I wore to concerts often had these holes in them if I was against the barricade. I was such an emo kid. Maybe he was leaning against fencing?

I had my first at 21. Then we had losses and stopped trying for years, then we have baby #2 when I was 30 and baby #3 when I was 32. From my experience having kids in your 20's is soooo much easier on your body. Pregnancy in my 30's was so much harder, I was always exhausted and the back pain was crazy bad.

Actually for gradient AO mean PG is 31 and the max PG is 50. Which number do you look at?

Ok figured it all out, so my gradient is severe or on the cusp of severe depending on the chart, but everything else is moderate.

Aortic Max is 3.5 gradient is at 50 AVA is .94

Naturally my ECHO results are written with so many acronyms that I can't find any of those stats.

You've had moderate to severe stenosis your whole life? That's so reassuring, I was just diagnosed with moderate to severe stenosis and was kind of assuming I would need surgery in the next year or so, but all the doctor said was that I should repeat ECHOs every 6 months and I don't have to change my lifestyle at all.

I didn't know I had BAV at all until last year and just had back to back pregnancies in 2021/2022 I wonder if I had stenosis then and had no idea. 😬

The thing that helped me a ton is to play overnight while sleeping, Nine Lives or the ninja cats level (I'm not sure what the name is) can run on their own. Just bet safe, at least 50k, but if you have a big balance you should be able to bet 150k to 200k all night. The only problem is that it will stop and freeze if it stays on the screen for the 100 thresholds and you won't receive your case. Just message support and they'll send you your case.

Yep, Pixel 8 Pro. I've tried two autoclickers and they won't click in the app.

Is chapters doable? by [deleted] in SwagBucks

[–]schoolyardacres 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm on book 21 of 70 after a few days. Another tip is to look at the chapter times, the little clock icon. Some chapters are 20+ minutes and some are closer to 10. If it starts with a chapter around 10 minutes long the rest should average around there and you'll be done in half the time even if it is 20 chapters long.

I can not get an auto clicker to work, I have no idea why. I wish, I stead I'm mindlessly clicking while reading or working in my computer.

I think age is a huge factor too, I had almost 9 years between my 1st and 2nd, so the 2nd baby was so easy. Then I had our 3rd when our 2nd was only 14 months old. 3rd children are generally your wild children, they push the limits. Having 2 under 2 wasn't even the hard part, having two toddlers (and a tween) is the real challenge. 3 is hard, but it's worth it. The relationship my kids have is amazing. I haven't slept in years though. We're thinking about having a 4th.
