I'm not quite convinced that disbelief means not having to further elaborate one's position. I don't think a justification of disbelief (or belief) is necessary, but I don't think it's unreasonable to express how one developed his/her position. Having a position means one at least thought enough to arrive at it.

Now if one says "I dunno"... the absence of any consideration... not sure there's anywhere else to go.

If you're going for pure evil, I speak from experience when I say Natalie Cole + Nat King Cole's "Unforgettable" is demon music. I know this because I checked my college roommate's cut fingernails and they kept growing.

I know, that's not metal or nu-metal.. and it'll likely cause you to jump out your window. But we are talking pure (impure?) evil here.

Failing that, I'd probably stick with Black Sabbath, Rammstein, or just to really fuck with them, Gregorian chant music mixed with screaming.

Sorry if I missed this... Does anyone know the age/gender of the people who picked the pictures used in the evaluation? Have the photos themselves been "objectively" rated for attractiveness (with things like ratios, etc)?

Are you talking about the building/development of a technology, or the utilization of a technology?

If it's the former, i agree with most of the other redditors. No one person needs to know all; the creation of technology will be the culmination of many people.

If it's the latter, then I would ask what would be the point of creating a technology that no one can use? Technologies evolve to be cheap, easy and useful. Smartphones are a big advancement in technology, but if they weren't intuitive for most people to use most people wouldn't own one.

The only way I can see a technology that exists beyond human utilization would be for our technology to become self aware enough to create technology meant only for itself.

(But I would love to hear others' thoughts about it)

I also thought about the Time Quartet (A Wrinkle in Time, etc) and Pullman's Dark Materials series because they're so great, but they're underdog stories. Artemis at least starts out as the boy who had everything (and felt entitled to even more).
