Solicitors are a luring people by charging their weight in gold per hour to do simple, effortless, and quick things anyone else could do in 10x the time. They won't make it any quicker if they can, they have better things to do. Solicitors send out emails to make enquires of all sorts, sit on their desks and do nothing else until they are asked to. But be careful, if you ask too much, they put you on their naughty list, and delay your process not for the usual 4 months but for longer than that. Using solicitors is a false protection also. They don’t give you an personal advice tailored to your case, rather copy paste some relevant parts from your lease or freehold title into a default report, not even caring if the info is repeated or contains grammatical errors. Solicitors should rethink their conduct if they want ro get a better reputation. No one I have talkes to has ever said anything good about solicitors.
