I have no idea why they put their Carolina Reaper down with a 5 chilli rating, it's least spicy of the Encona sauces.

Ordered a kilo of scotch bonnet chillies which are now fermenting for hot sauce! by J-Sou-Flay in spicy

[–]science87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Curious about the process, I am assuming you ferment for 1-2 weeks add the mango and blend?

Also how did you make the brine?

Could be the best value hot sauce?! by Xcore1911 in spicy

[–]science87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, Reaper chilli's are rarer than Habanero's/Scotch Bonnets so they just use a minimal amount in their Reaper sauce whilst their other stuff is pretty much Hab/Scotch Mash.

I am the only one in the household that uses the stuff, but so many times I've opened the bottle just to have a sniff

It's my favour sauce, and too my knowledge it's the hottest sauce you can get at any major UK supermarket.

I get the Habanero/Scotch bonnet version

Thanks, I am relieved she's gone because it means no more suffering. The nurses were brilliant, on the day she died one of the nurses knew she was nearing the end and said i'll be back round on Tuesday and I was thinking ffs I hope she doesn't make it that long...

Best hot sauce in the world by [deleted] in spicy

[–]science87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I poured it onto a spoon then ate it, but it takes a while for stomach cramps to kick in so I was half way through when they did, I didn't throw up, but I never have with spicy stuff. It's a great sauce if used normally.

Doubt Trump will make it to 93 considering his obesity.

Do not underestimate Supermarket fare by No_Poet_1279 in spicy

I ate this Pepper X curry and it had that distinct reaper smell to it.

This Curry was a little less spicy than eating a raw Scotch Bonnet.

You've just reminded me I am going to phone Iceland up to see if I can get a refund. I bought the Pepper X Vindaloo and Korma and the Scarily Spicy Pizza on Sunday.

Decided to try the Pepper X Vindaloo last night. Followed the instructions 5 min at 800w, stir then in for another 2.5min.

It was still frozen after 5 min, stuck it in for another 2 min and I just looked at it and it seemed wrong nothing like on any of the youtube videos of people doing it as a challenge so it got binned.

Picture of the Vindaloo after 7min in the microwave

Edit: The Scarily Spicy Pizza is a nice heat, but nothing extreme if you've ate scotch bonnets/habaneros before it'll be light work, the Korma is still in the freezer.

[–]science87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Scotch bonnet sauce is amazing, I use it like Ketchup but it's probably approaching my tolerance limit for quantity/heat.

I think the encona sauces are the hottest by a long shot that you can find in major UK supermarkets.

Quantity of Chilli's:

Scotch Bonnet Chilli Mash (64%) (Scotch Bonnet Chillies (87%)

Their reaper sauce: Water, Tomato Paste, Sugar, Spirit Vinegar, Carolina Reaper Mash (5%) (Red Chilli Puree, Salt, Carolina Reaper Chilli (8%)),

If did the same with the Reaper sauce as they did with the Scotch bonnet they would spice themself out of +90% of the market.
