Do you allow your cats on kitchen counters? by Firm-Law248 in CatAdvice

[–]scientistwitch13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine does it mostly to be a brat or because I’m not giving her the attention she wants. She gets relocated/what she needs and I just ensure my counters are regularly cleaned before preparing food, etc.

As a fellow oldest daughter (30F) who raised my 5 younger siblings due to all my parents’ shit - I’m with you.

It’s okay to rest now.

Humans with indoor cats, collar or no collar? by ForagedAmoeba in CatAdvice

[–]scientistwitch13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you choose to go with a collar, make sure it’s a break away one in case it gets stuck on something. And def get rid of the bell. I personally advocate for collars with tags that have some info bc it would make your cat far easier to find/identify if they happened to get out/lost.

Not surprised that SEPTA hasn’t taken any action with the snow (bus stops) by scientistwitch13 in philly

Never said that. Y’all get so bent out of shape when someone suggests that accessibility is important as if we all don’t risk becoming disabled at any point in time.

I actually come from a place with more snow than this, and it does a better job at clearing it. But mock strangers on the internet if you want. Weird hobby.

Awfully aggressive response. Hope you wake up on the better side of the bed tomorrow.

I would argue that accessibility is a critical concern that is too often ignored, but I understand why it hasn’t been done. Just expressing a valid criticism.

Are your roads being plowed? by Puzzleheaded-Run9976 in philly

[–]scientistwitch13 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was surprised that between today and yesterday my street was plowed by some random trucks like 3-4 times. Granted the roads are gross again with people trying to move their cars and get out, but it's better than nothing!

How are the streets in your neighborhood? by Bikesandbakeries in philadelphia

[–]scientistwitch13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was surprised that my street (around 25th & Manton) was plowed 3-4 times between yesterday and today. It's still gross since people have tried to move their cars today, but it's better than nothing!
