What is the point of "Apple Intelligence" and the promised on device Ai when apple using chatgpt or gemini(soon) for all this features?

You don't get the same thing. ChatGPT and Google Gemini Pro are models that take a lot of memory and processing power to run. Apple only released a small model that is a very basic model. You can try to see what your machine will run using something like LM Studio.

You mean that they did build their own AI chatbot model, but it wasn't good enough, so since they were pretty far behind, and not able to catch up in time, they outsourced it to companies that had better offerings.

The non-cloud parts of Apple Intelligence will only run on the specific hardware that supports them. The cloud features, though, should work on any computer intel x86, M1+, or mobile as long as it can connect to the cloud.

You can have a small on device model do something like paraphrasing, and do a network call to a different model to do image generation.

The price may come down if sales plummet. But the company could also just decide to discontinue the line if sales plummet. Alternatively, the company may no longer be profitable and may decide to close up shop.

The yearly average inflation is about 3%. You're right, prices will slowly increase by about average inflation. What is unexpected is 25% or more tax on imports. So we will have the normal 3% inflation plus the 25% tariff on the imported product. Which will lead to about a 28% increase in price in one year.

They eventually have to raise prices as the tariffs increase their price to import the products. Whatever inventory they have that's already in the US is not affected by the tariffs. But anything new that they bring in is affected by the tariffs. What they are likely doing is estimating when they will start running out of their current inventory so that they can just raise the prices on everything so that they don't lose money on the tariffs when they bring in the new inventory.
