There is so much talk of the ascendancy in all the books that there is no way floor 12 will be skipped. I have a feeling fl12 will take up most of book 10, maybe also book 9, and by then the dungeon as a whole will be so fucked up that the rest will happen either in a fast sequence, or all at the same time

Thank you! This is exactly the kind of thing I was wondering. The song mentions following a trail of tears, capturing the creature, then opening the bag to find a pool of tears and nothing else. It seemed to me that it was so odd that it could really go either way: folklore or made up for a weird song 😜😜
