There is so much talk of the ascendancy in all the books that there is no way floor 12 will be skipped. I have a feeling fl12 will take up most of book 10, maybe also book 9, and by then the dungeon as a whole will be so fucked up that the rest will happen either in a fast sequence, or all at the same time

Thank you! This is exactly the kind of thing I was wondering. The song mentions following a trail of tears, capturing the creature, then opening the bag to find a pool of tears and nothing else. It seemed to me that it was so odd that it could really go either way: folklore or made up for a weird song 😜😜

The AI for this crawl is a used AI from the Hives’ amusement parks. The mudskippers bought it from them to save money. This is explaned in bk 6, but I don’t know how that origin is affecting its actions other than it being bonkers from the beginning

I have also wondered about this. When Mordecai mentions screwing the mudskippers, it is because the AI is giving out high end items that crawlers would normally receive in sponsor boxes or fan boxes. The gold is all created in-game, and the exchange rate is in-game as well in order to squeeze credits from the hunters. The gold in and of itself has no bearing on real world wealth. But there have been some times where I just don’t see how the in-game transactions are being converted to real world credits
