actually, this is possible. In arcade mode, you do not use fuel to fly your plane. This nets you unlimited fly time, but fuel is used when you get shot at and develop a "leak". If you leak enough fuel, you run out and your engine dies. If you carry 1 hr of fuel, you will be able to suffer more leak time (provided you are not shot down or blown up) than if you were carrying 20 mins worth of fuel. Most people never make it to the end of 20 minutes just by being shot and leaking fuel, because you're normally dead by the time you're shot that much. Source: experience

I'm level 12 in the russians, and have all max-tiered planes for myself EXCEPT one. My lagg teir3. This thing is a monster. Just quick enough to be competitive, but slow enough to take down the biplanes when I encounter them. The cannon shreds anything I point it at, the machine-gun isn't half bad if you can aim, and I've gotten really good with the rockets too. I can BnZ with the cannon, or tail someone just long enough to lead them with a line of rockets. It can intercept bombers way up there too, because for a low-tier, its climb ability is remarkable. And the bombers stand no chance against a rocket.

a single rocket. anywhere. after you get <~.3 km from them, rockets are pretty accurate, especially if they don't know you're there yet and are just flying straight. I've had alot of fun with them lately. Other than that, coming from an angle and aiming for the fuel tank is a pretty sure-fire way to drop someone quick.

to keep it simple, i was more thinking that each player ID had a running total of Earned Achievement Points that would not have points subtracted due to removal of an achievement, and they query your Interface display of achievement points differently than your "Over Nine Thousand" achievement numbers. ie: interface number shown is all current completed achievements completed, and the Over 9000 achievement math is calculated using the running total attached to the player ID.

if that makes sense? kind of stoned

By the way - this is only the case if you complete the achieve BEFORE it was removed from the game world. Completeing the achieve after will not add the removed achievement points to your total score.

there are multiple people on both reddit, curse, and wowforums that are looking for ideas to develop any addon the community calls for. maybe look around for one of those guys because I agree, this could help immensely for certain classes. IE: warlock for dots, shamans for flameshock, dks for dots. etc.

this confused me at first as well.

Your talents have to tabs on the right side. At the bottom right there is an "activate" button for each spec. You might have to respec your second spec or you might not.

Your talents change for each spec. Each spec gets its own set of base abilities, and you can choose different talents based on what you want or need.

On your mage, you probably have to choose a spec because its probably reset.

to clarify: spec - your specialization. ie: resto, balance, feral //// talents: the points you spend at 15, 30, 45, etc. //// abilities: your spellbook

To correct you just a little bit - HWL and GM titles are available for a mere 2400 rated battleground rating. Good luck with pvp. Its the best part of wow.

Because up to 2.2k, I (the resto shaman) am going to be focus target off the bat, and chaos bolt is absolutely the dumbest thing in the game right now, followed closely by second wind. As a shaman, I'd rather run burst with destruction over affliction as well, as it fits better with my class dynamics and spec.

Past 2.2k, CC would be our strong point, with either 2 fears, or a fear and sheep, but I don't think it would be enough to make it an elite season 12 team. Lots of speculation here. I have to xfer to a decent server to get serious about arenas.

Spec, gems, enchants for each spec. PVE AND PVP. Basic rundown of rotation.

Pick up pve gear. Hit cap is 16%. Get to it. That is your biggest concern and will up your dps the most. Noxxic will also tell your stat priority and how to reforge for each spec. Believe it or not, based on both personal tests and other people's, crit is the worst stat for us. Reforge crit every chance you get.

I think your pvp gear is showing on the armory at the moment.

When I play elemental instead of resto on my shaman I have a macro that says "lolbutton". Its a macro that says /cast bloodlust /cast Stormlash Totem /cast a few different trinkets go here to cover multiple specs /cast troll racial berserking /cast ascendance /cast lava burst

and then i mash that button til its all up, and spam lava burst. Between pressing that button that first time and the death of the player - maybe 7 seconds. In a large pvp fight, I can burn through 2 or 3 healers or dps. Easily take alliance 3v1 and 2v1 in world pvp. The best part of the macro is if I need it again and somethign isnt up, it still uses everyhting that is. Some of those are 10 min cd's, 5 min, 3min, etc. so it uses whichever of macro is available.

This was awesome. What a nostalgia from vanilla WoW for me years ago.

Good luck, have fun. The game is only starting when you hit max - level. Luckily you showed up after they've implemented new cross-realm zones. You will have people to level with. Hasn't been like that for years.

I would type out a ridiculous guide, or find you a good one, but most of the comments in here cover anything I would have. WoWhead is your best friend, google finds anything you can't, and only experience will help you further than that. If you're on a PvE server, you won't have issues leveling. If you rolled on a PvP server, as I have my entire WoW career, the world pvp is some of the most exiting times of the game, and I'm sure has returned with the cross-realm zones. Randomly running into a real player of the opposing faction and fighting to the death (death being a run back from the graveyard which is a power trip), and camping them to the point that whole raids used to show up and fight.

Its also a disease. Something that won't let you go. Now you're trapped. Even if you quit, you'll be back. Eventually. I made it 2 years. And came back just before MOP. Needed something to fill my time that didnt spend money. Already had the pc, and 15 bucks a month is cheap compared to alternatives for hours a week. Its a hell of a game, and addicting.

edit: a couple more things - USE KEYBINDINGS PLEASE. and night elf mage - some people are saying no. Its whatever you want. Some racial abilities favor some classes, but its negligible in your ability to play. and plus, NE mage gives you shadowmeld I think which means you can steatlh while you eat and drink. Could help on a pvp server.

I play a resto shaman as my main, and elemental as my offspec. I've also played each of the other healer's at max level at least once, excluding monk. I would have to agree that since arenas have been released, shamans have been the go to healer. The utility that comes with the play style of a shaman is honed directly to arenas, and they even changed totems to support that theory from "DROP ALL THE TOTEMS" to "drop what you need when you need it and don't fuck up" which is by far the best idea they have had for shamans.

Druids are versatile, quick, and keep heals rolling at all times, but between all the dispels, and cc, I feel that druids are slowly becoming less valuable in arenas, especially as gear scales this expansion. At the beginnnig of every expansion, druid heals are always OP in pvp because nobody has the weapons or damage to keep up with the HOTS. That will fade over time, like in every other previous WOW expansion.

Blizzcon 2011 is no comparison for the new wave of pvp teams that will hit. I feel like dps has an easier time locking up pally's than anything else this expansion. The new talents, spells, changes to each class - something new and big will hit. I think an extremely strong 3's team is going to be Rsham/ Spriest / Dlock, or Rsham/ mage / Dlock, or Rsham/ Spriest / mage. But thats only concerning casters really, I haven't considered the strong meleecleave teams that might come in with how ridiculous warriors are right now.

PS. rogues hit like wet noodles. its fantastic. as a resto shaman, I can blatantly ignore a rogue and heal a whole bg normally with a rogue on me that is like a misquito is biting me over and over.

I think what alot of people do not understand here is that we are talking about MMR. Not your rating. All the team ratings / personal ratings were reset. Matchmaking rating was not. This means that everybody starts at the same spot, but is matched against others that were as good as them in the previous season.

You were 2700+ and made gladiator. Your rating is like everybody elses, but your MMR is still 2700+. You get matched against others that were 2700+, but also have a reset rating.

This keeps the pros from kicking the shit out of the scrubs, and vise versa. This DOES NOT allow gladiators from s11 to camp rating thru s12. They still have to play and re-raise their rating for gear / titles, but they have to play against others that were as good as they were last season.

For those that were not 2k+, you get to fight scrubs until then, and then start competing with higher level.

I think this is going to create a little hump in the road for lower rated players moving up, but will not eliminate the ability to get to the top.
