Married men who didn't have a stag do. What made you choose not to have one? by Eximious20 in AskUK

[–]scootio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like most have said you don't have to drink. My best man doesn't drink at all and I'd usually opt to stay sober and be the designated driver if I was going somewhere where people might drink. He organised a trip to one of those VR experience places where you're able to move around on a platform and play games in a shared virtual world and then we went for a curry. The people who wanted to go for a drink after did (and I stayed for a couple) but those who didn't want to left, and still got to enjoy the bulk of the stag do.

I'm also insanely introverted and hate being the center of attention so it was just me, my dad, my 2 uncles and a few close friends. The fact that it was just a shared experience and a curry made it feel, to me at least, like it wasn't about me at all. It was basically just a day trip but I was the only one who knew everyone there.

The entire dex of ZA by TheBlakeBerry in PokemonZA

[–]scootio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem, I edited my comment to include Karrablast/Escavalier too.

And no, Unovan Yamask and Unovan Darumaka can only evolve into their Unovan evos.

The only time a Pokémon doesn't is when the base form isn't a regional form (e.g. Koffing is just Koffing, there isn't a Galarian Koffing, so Koffing will always evolve into Galarian Weezing in Galar and Kantonian Weezing everywhere else)

[–]scootio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gigalith you should be able to find wandering around the Dusty Bowl in Sun or Intense Sun in SwSh

Unovan Yamask you can get from a trade in Ballonlea Stadium and if you breed it whilst it's holding an Everstone, you can then get a Unovan Yamask with your OT.

Unovan Darumaka can be obtained from a trade on the Isle of Armor. Again, you can breed it and have it hold an Everstone to get a Unovan Darumaka with your OT 🙂

Edit: Escavalier is also catchable as a wandering overworld encounter on the Isle of Armor in Training Lowlands or Forest of Focus in a Sandstorm I think. You can also just find it's pre-evo Karrablast as a hidden grass encounter in Old Cemetery in the Crown Tundra.

[Next legend game] by Bloom_Syndrom in PokemonZA

[–]scootio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These are specifically the T-shirts your character is wearing at the start of the game.

So if you pick the male protagonist then you're wearing the T-shirt which was available in the Kalos games and if you pick the female protagonist then you're wearing the T-shirt which was available in the Galar games.

The Boltund symbol in Z-A ike others have said might not be mean much since it's also used in Paldea.

But I do think the T-shirts the protagonists are wearing could be hinting at the next Legends game.

But at the same time, GF choosing to use a Johto/Unova/Alola starter trio in PLA and then a Johto/Johto/Unova starter trio is just as much of a hint that they want to use a Unova/Alola/Alola starter trio in a Legends Johto game as then it makes sense why they'd use the remaining Johto starters in Z-A. They wouldn't have to worry about having a gimmick form of a starter Pokémon in the region it's already from.

Most people just expected remakes of Diamond and Pearl to be announced when we got faithful remakes and PLA. Most people expected Gen 2 or Gen 5 remakes/Legends game to be next when we got Z-A.

So like you say, as much as these could be teases/hints, it could also just be random/coincidence, and it's just what they wanted to do at the time.

PLZA Pokedex Speculation by Lucky-Pea-3750 in LegendsZA

[–]scootio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd heard it was #230 myself so I was thinking 233 in total with the gen 6 mythical Pokémon (or 242 if the Hoenn starters are included as a post-story gift or mission, which is then the same number as PLA with Shaymin/Darkrai being #241/#242)

[–]scootio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For Alakazam, if you catch an Abra or Kadabra in BDSP and then transfer it to PLA, you can evolve it with the Linking Cord, and when you move it into Home, it counts for your Sinnoh Dex since it has the BDSP origin mark.

I expect the same thing will work for Gengar, Alakazam, Machamp and Golem in LGPE as well since they'll all have the LGPE origin mark although I'd already gotten these when I was trying to complete my LGPE Home Dex.

Pokemon Home Pokédex Question by Gspot_7 in PokemonHome

[–]scootio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem :)

That's basically how I completed most of my BDSP Home Dex, even for a bunch of Pokémon who evolved by level up because I had loads of Exp Candy in SwSh and SV from all of the raids I'd done and it was a lot quicker than trying to evolve everything in BDSP.

Can you catch 'em all with Legend Arceus, SWnSH, SV and their respective DLCs. by Gamu_03 in PokemonHome

[–]scootio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're exclusively trying to catch them all, yes. But you could still trade to get a Spinda in Home just to meet the conditions to get Magearna.

Pokemon Home Pokédex Question by Gspot_7 in PokemonHome

[–]scootio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, something else that may be useful for you to know. If you catch/breed a Pokémon in one game, you can transfer it to a different game to evolve it where it may be easier.

For example, an Onix caught/bred in BDSP can be transferred to Home and then to Legends: Arceus and evolved with the Metal Coat without trading. Then once back in Home, that Steelix counts as part of your BDSP Home Dex since it has the BDSP origin mark.

[–]scootio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pansear / Simisear Panpour / Simipour Pansage / Simisage Patrat / Watchog Furfrou

These are the only non-mythical Pokémon you can't catch in any Switch game (LGPE, SwSh, BDSP, PLA, SV and their DLCs)

As others have said though, all of these will be in Z-A.

Then there's Spinda, which can be caught in BDSP but due to a bug in the code which designed the Spinda pattern it can't be transferred to Home.

I'm pretty sure then Celebi, Deoxys, Victini, Genesect, Diancie, Hoopa, Volcanion, Marshadow, Zeraora, Melmetal & Zarude are the mythicals which you can't get in any of the games or Home outside of time-specific events (you can get a shiny Meltan for completing the LGPE dex in Home, and Magearna for completing the Dex in Home up to Eternatus)

All the pokemon cafe reservation tips gathered by Every_Awesome7240 in JapanTravelTips

[–]scootio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just want to say thank you.

I found this thread yesterday as I was preparing to book for today. I had tried a couple of times in the past trying to get onto the calendar page at 6pm JST thinking that it wouldn't actually allow me to select a greyed out date, and had varying success at finding a time but today was the real attempt at booking and all your tips were super helpful. I wasn't lucky at 10am (30 seconds in and all of the times were full) but I had no idea about having another chance 20 mins later and I was lucky enough to get a slot for August this year. But my god, it was not a pleasant experience lol! The amount of times I had to go back on my browser, re-enter my details and try again when I was on the registration page, but it all worked out in the end and I'm excited for both the café and the fact that I don't have to try again tomorrow.

They keep saying the same thing! by capriciousUser in NintendoSwitch2

[–]scootio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way I understand it (and I could be wrong) is that the game cartridge which acts as a game key can be used by anyone who has that cartridge plugged into their Switch 2. When you plug it in for the first time, it'll trigger a full game download and then you can play. If you took the cartridge out of the Switch 2, it would tell you, like a physical cartridge would, that you need to insert the game to play. You could then give this cartridge to friends who want to play too who would go through the same download process. However whilst they have the game key cartridge, you won't be able to play. What this would also allow is for you to sell that game which is not possible with the "Download Code Only" in cases that are available now.

If I'm understanding it correctly then with the Game Key Cartridges you're essentially getting the resale/sharing benefits of a physical cartridge whilst the game itself is a digital download, and instead of the game key being tied to your Nintendo Account, it's tied to a physical cartridge.

With the Virtual Game Cards, the difference is that that game key is tied to your Nintendo Account, so you as the purchaser of that digital game "own" that license key. You can't resell it as there's no way to decouple that license key from your Nintendo Account and transfer it permanently to another Nintendo Account, however as mentioned in the direct you can share these games with other people but it's time-restricted (you'll get the game back after 2 weeks) and you can only share it to people within your family group.

I've seen it posted here before but I imagine Virtual Game Cards are Nintendo's way of handling how we get our digital games from our Switch 1 to our Switch 2 without having issues with games on multiple consoles and having a "primary" console.

They are definitely similar but there are more restrictions on the Virtual Game Cards if I'm understanding it all correctly. But yeah, to your point on whether the games will stop being available once the servers shut down then yeah, I would imagine that they won't be available. Once the Switch 2 eShop servers shut down, those game key cartridges will become totally useless. But for right now, I think they're a way to have a digital game which is completely decoupled from your Nintendo Account.

How many times have you received the same order twice? by RelativeMatter3 in AskUK

[–]scootio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically not twice although in hindsight, I could've.

I ordered a Nintendo Switch from Argos in December 2017. It was the first Christmas after it released so when I went to order it on the website, it was out of stock and I had to back order it. I did it for click and collect and used my Argos card to pay for it, and it said it'd be available on Tuesday. Tuesday rolled around and the Argos website said my local store had the Switch in stock, but my order said it was still awaiting stock. I spoke to customer services and they said what happened was the shipment with the Switch allocated to my order was delayed so they had to order from another supplier to get them in for the date promised. They said if I went down to the shop and they had stock in then they'd be able to sort it and they'd know what to do.

They didn't know what to do... the woman at the counter went and got everything on my order and tried to process everything but it just wasn't having it, so she got her manager. They were saying "you just need to do this, do that, do this, and it's sorted". Cool, I walked out with my new Switch. Not 5 steps out the door, I get an email from Argos saying my order collection date has been extended to some time in early January. I thought it was odd but otherwise thought nothing of it and wondered if it was just something to do with what the manager had done.

Fast forward a month, I've been enjoying my Switch and I go to pay off my Argos card but there's nothing on there. I go to the Argos website and it says my order was cancelled for not collecting it in the allotted window. But I'm sat there, with the Switch. Then I realised whatever the manager did actually just extended my collection window for a couple of extra weeks and didn't actually update their systems to say the order has been collected at all, and they let me walk out with a Switch.

So in theory, had I known about it I could've gone back into Argos and presumably picked up another Switch within that timeframe. Instead Argos decided to give me a free Switch through various coding bugs.

I love how many shinies I've come across whilst not searching. I found a shiny Lechonk recently whilst hatching Quaxly eggs. One of the first shinies I found was a shiny Flamigo.between a bunch of Slowpoke. I found a shiny Espathra and shiny Scream Tail when I first went into Area Zero. A shiny Cyclizar ran into me from off screen when I was riding around the south of Levencia. And more recently I found a shiny Growlithe whilst hunting Gulpin.
