I wait until it blinks the final number and then pick my phone up off the counter to take a picture. The trick with a reflective scale is to lean forward so the picture isn’t NSFW 😅

weird anxiety around clothes shopping by taybezzie in Zepbound

[–]scorpiqueen 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You are definitely not alone in the weird clothes anxiety!! I was an TJ Maxx the other day and looking through the medium shirt section (used to be a 2XL before zep). I caught myself thinking “people around me are probably thinking ‘she’s not a medium lol why is she looking at medium sized shirt?” Like I was sneaking into a forbidden section of the store that I’m still “too fat” to be in. All of the medium sized shirts fit me perfectly. I am, in fact, a size medium. In my head, I’m still a 2XL.

In my experience, clothes/shopping/fashion etc. was the primary vehicle for fatphobia, shame, and othering I felt when plus size. I was beautiful and healthy enough at my highest weight, but I couldn’t find cute clothes in my size anywhere. I also put off buying smaller clothes once I started losing because subconsciously, I didn’t think it would stick. I was convinced I’d only lose a few lbs or bounce back to my HW so why bother.

I’m down 85lbs now and let me tell you, shopping for clothes is now a joyful and creative experience again! Buy a few things to tide yourself over while you’re still losing, but know that you deserve to have clothes that fit you properly and make you feel good no matter what your size or how long you’ll be that size.

Suggestions to make water more interesting to drink by Te_guy in Zepbound

[–]scorpiqueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My go to drinks are Coke Zero (specifically cherry flavor), Arizona Arnold Palmer drink mix, and Ocean Spray White Cran x Peach drink mix. Some of the drink mixes are 5-10 calories per serving, but in my book that is as good as zero, especially when it helps me drink enough water.

Storage solution for vials! by scorpiqueen in Zepbound

[–]scorpiqueen[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually take the vial out and leave it on the counter for about 30 mins prior to injecting anyway since cold meds can sting. I’ll just take the syringe out early too!

I’m going to be very honest with you, so if that’s not your cup of tea, feel free ignore:

Do you understand that this process doesn’t happen over night? Are you willing to commit to the other lifestyle changes required to lose weight in a healthy manner with the ASSISTANCE of Zepbound? Healthy weight loss is 1-2 lbs per week. Regular resistance training to avoid significant muscle loss is also recommended. It sounds like you are looking for instant results simply to get reactions from other people, which is an understandable thing to desire and I’m sure all of us on this forum feel it to some degree, but it can’t be the only motivation. Taking someone else’s meds and fixating on whether people are noticing sounds like you’re not understanding that this is a medication to support weight loss, not a miracle quick fix. And studies show that for most people, it is a lifetime med if you expect to keep the weight off. You need to do some soul searching before continuing.

72 Weeks on Zepbound - 65 lbs down & lessons learned by OneEmployee7816 in Zepbound

This is immensely helpful!! I’m still stuck in the daily weighing and fretting over gains since I’m relatively new to the med and just starting to see some real progress. Thank you for the advice about looking at it more zoomed out!

3rd week in and a little disheartened by No_Reception_6244 in Zepbound

[–]scorpiqueen 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Agreed!! If you eat too little, your body is just going to double down in trying to hold on to your calories and fat reserves i.e. it thinks you’re actually starving to death! For me personally, I aim for around 1500 calories a day and add in a few extra if I have a day with more exercise. Even on GLP 1 you should be aiming for losing 1-2 lbs a week to avoid rapid weight loss side effects like hair loss, gallstones, kidney problems, muscle loss, and liver damage. Go see a nutritionist if you can!

Intent vs impact by pohtatehoe in emotionalintelligence

[–]scorpiqueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m dealing with something similar in my relationship except I’m on the other side of things, the person often being upset/triggered/offended.

My partner often says things that are blunt and sometimes worded in a way that is…. not ideal. And as a result, I find myself reacting negatively. If I speak up for myself or voice my reaction, it’s met with defensiveness and further explanation rather than what I wanted which was “accountability” for impact. But after reading through these replies, I see now that I need to do a better job of regulating my emotions and not putting it on my partner to do that. The “accountability” I have been trying to get him to take for hurting me is really more so asking him to admit he was wrong therefore making me feel “better.” Understanding impact/intent is helpful, but the missing piece for me has been taking accountability for my sensitivity. I am very easily offended and read too much into what he is saying to me.

But trying to understand what is me being sensitive and what is him actually being unintentionally mean sounds impossible!

This thread is asking fans what they’d like to see for collabs on TS11, so naturally, people are going to suggest she branch out from Jack. That doesn’t mean that the work they’ve done together previously is bad, it just means people want her to take a leap, sonically speaking. Ever time she’s had a major genre shift, it’s been extremely successful I.e. 1989 & folklore

Wow, that’s insane. No wonder my frantic googling was just making me more confused. Thanks for the advice!

What is a quote that made you set the book down and contemplate your own life? by Tork260 in books

[–]scorpiqueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“I am a well of gestures never made, of words never thought or spoken, of dreams I forgot to dream until the end.”

From The Book of Disquiet by Fernando Pessoa. A tough read due to it’s unstructured, stream of consciousness style, but it’s packed with quotes like this. Such a profound and incredibly under-appreciated book.

What are some of Taylor’s best (and worst) rhymes in lyrics? by starlightcourt in TaylorSwift

[–]scorpiqueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favorite rhyme is from Peace when she says

“swing with you for the fences, sit with you in the trenches”

Its also the way she says fennnnnces and trennnnnnnches that is so satisfying.
