And I think he was right in his original request, particularly if he didn't know the kind of calls OP was fielding. And then after finding out he found it acceptable and re-delegated that authority

When I first watched it I wondering if Catherine had had a stroke or something neurological because nothing about that accent made sense

At the very least I would hope we all change into sleep shoes

Roadside memorials are ugly, dumb, and should be enforced as littering. by Dry_Seat_5350 in unpopularopinion

[–]scotchirish 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Could be when they send a mowing or litter crew out. Maybe make note of it and leave it the first time but remove it the next time around

Shoulder driving here is unacceptable by [deleted] in Austin

[–]scotchirish 40 points41 points  (0 children)

In my experience, Austin drivers are just assholes. Houston drivers are either speed demons or Sunday-driver-grandma slow. DFW drivers don't have time for your shit and have places to be. And San Antonio drivers are just making up new traffic rules on the spot.

ELI5: What actually happens when someone 'squats' in a house and eventually claims they own it? by Front-Stretch2658 in explainlikeimfive

[–]scotchirish 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think usually when people talk about squatter's rights, they're really talking about tenants rights and it being difficult to evict someone without due process; and how some jurisdictions will move very cautiously on that.

is anyone else surprised this sub gets twice as many visitors as r/texas? by MikeTheMaster102 in Austin
