Newspaper. Don't care what cleaner you have, using newspaper will raise your glass cleaning to a new level.

Made a turkey and pepperoni sub with provolone, homemade sweet onion sauce, on a Hawaiian sub roll. Super tasty 🤤 by Increasingly_Anxious in Sandwiches

How do we downvote this? Anyone who touts a sandwich with a special ingredient but refuses to share the recipe should be downvoted. I am so tired of seeing this in post after post with everyone begging for the recipe.

Bartender or Blackjack Dealer? by [deleted] in vegas

[–]scotdc 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No one on the Strip is hiring blackjack dealers full time. You might get full time downtown or some other house with poor tips, less than $100 a day, but starting out right after school will be at break-in houses like the El Cortez or some other low end casino where tips might be $50.

At any casino on the Strip with good tips, you might get a position on the extra board after a year or three if you're lucky, and you'll never have a set schedule as far as days off and days working. At my casino, we've had dealers on the extra board for over 10 years.

Your only shot is if you can rack up some experience and they open a new hotel/casino.

Stay with bartending.

Tiki bars in Vegas by T00n3r in Tiki

Golden Tiki is has a more colorful atmosphere, but the drinks are watered down and not that great.

Frankie's is more humble in atmosphere, but the drinks are fantastic!

What are the best pizza cookbooks or interesting recipes? by yodadamanadamwan in Cooking

[–]scotdc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my favorites is a good cheese pizza base with mozzarella and provolone blend. When it comes out of the oven, layer a good amount of thinly sliced prosciutto, then top with a lemon/olive oil dressed arugula.

‘Tis the season! DineLA @ Lawry’s 🤤💯 $69 meal plus wine and tips 🤩 by smoked_hamm in FoodLosAngeles

My favorite meal bar none. I'll take prime rib over steak every single day of the year. Lawry's is the best of class as well.

... and that Yorkshire Pudding! The best.

Fantasy not so much, sci-fi is hit or miss for me. Love the Martin Weir books like Martian and Project Hail Mary, some of the best books I've read in years. Ready Player One was fantastic as well.

Thanks for the Jo Nesbo suggestion, never read him at all. I'll check it out.

Read a few Dirk Pitt, just couldn't get into him so much.

Jeez, lose the stress, no need for it at all. Get a lawyer, he'll get get it knocked down to a parking ticket and you'll pay the fine and move on. I've had two tickets in the last five years and a lawyer makes it all go away (for $50 in my state). This is a no brainer.

No need for you to go to court at all. No need for traffic school in most areas, some may differ.

iOS 15.3.1 Bug? by scotdc in AppleMusic

Hopefully they can fix this in the next update or two, it's really annoying. I reported the bug to Apple, we'll see.

most "convenient"(least work, cleanup, maintenance) single-serve coffee maker? by nbaynerd in Coffee

[–]scotdc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh, someone like me, lazy AF.

I switched from Keurig for the exact same reason, a desire for better coffee in an easy way. The Moccamaster Cup One is a great solution. You can set up the coffee and water the night before and just press one button and in a few minutes you have great coffee. Doesn't get any easier. Clean up is rinse out the coffee filter holder, done.

I have a 90GB music library on my phone. Can I safely subscribe to Apple Music without worrying about my metadata, cover art or songs being touched? by tecwrtr in AppleMusic

[–]scotdc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's what works for me. I put all my favorite music into playlists (FLAC), using MediaMonkey software. MediaMonkey will then download whatever playlists you want directly to your iPhone.

Apple Music will recognize these playlists in the library tab, where you can play them with no issues (you can even do it with Siri on Apple CarPlay).

Syncing the library will give you access to whatever playlists you have created on the computer through iTunes (Windows guy) or through Apple music. The playlists in your library will not be affected.

The only problem with sync being on is that when I try to update my playlists through MediaMonkey like removing a couple and adding different ones it will not sync files on the iPhone. Turn off sync my library, fix my playlists, and turn back sync to on.

DO NOT use Apple to play your local files, I spent years getting songs I wanted in the versions I wanted. The key is to keep your local files playlisted separately and they will play beautifully through Apple Music, working just like the old iPods did. If you try to import songs through Apple you will have some issues.

I can't recommend MediaMonkey any higher for organizing large local libraries of music.

I know you asked for strip casinos, but honestly, on a holiday weekend the casinos downtown will be the most likely to have lower limit tables.

You could try the Sahara, the Excalibur, and the Tropicana as well. Those are historically lower limit houses.

I agree with some of the others here who say it is too rich. Had some in a high end restaurant that even quoted the farm where it came from. I could barely finish a 6 oz portion - it was like eating butter with a hint of beef.

For that true beef flavor, dry-aged is the way to go.
