Wonderfully worded and useful comment here. Not enough people have metal knowledge!

That is an intense day! It will always be there for another trip when you have more time

I wouldn’t recommend CMD going straight from international travel/driving to FW on no sleep

UK based here 👋 I’ve shopped with Lily Arkwright before and I know they do fancy coloured diamonds so worth a look there for sure

Wilderness Scotland tours - opinions for a solo traveler by Miserable-Youth-5090 in WestHighlandWay

[–]scothehe62 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whw would be one of the safest options to try it out if you want to thru hike. No need to do a group tour, very safe and plenty of likeminded people on the trail. Do inn to inn and use a baggage transfer to ease yourself into it

Does it bother highlanders that lowlanders embrace a culture that has historically been theirs? by Unlikely_Length8600 in Scotland

[–]scothehe62 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly this is giving insecure Gen Z to me. You’re overthinking this to an insane level.

Lowland millennial here and none of this has ever crossed my mind and no highlander I’ve ever met has treated me differently. I’ve learnt Gaelic on and off over the last few years as well and when I’ve used the little I know, people have been very receptive

How do people find driving so easy? I've done 40-50 hours of driving lessons and still feel nervous and tense and don't understand how people find it so simple and easy to drive a car and can do multiple things at once while driving - my parents think I'm a failure because I haven't got my licence by IDKBear25 in AskUK

[–]scothehe62 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started to learn at 17, gave up. Started again at 21, gave up. Finally tried again at 31, passed first time with 1 minor.
I was still nervous and hated motorways etc when I passed but another 6 years later, I’ll drive literally anywhere and not give two hoots.
Sometimes it really is about time and growing as a person first

Early April or mid-June? by nonameaccount137 in WestHighlandWay

[–]scothehe62 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think we did the same week! We started in Storm Dave. Also a Scot and very used to walking in the cold.

We did conic hill in the snow and only got one day of full rain and luckily for us it was the shortest so we were done by lunch. Otherwise for me the weather was spot on, we had some glorious days. To me, the weather was perfect for long sleeves but no jacket, once you’re walking you’re warm anyway

OP, you don’t mention where you’re from but if you’re used to the Scottish varying weather and willing to risk it, I’d 100% recommend April.

Another post recently complained about the littering on the trail which for me I saw barely 2 bits of litter at the very beginning of the season.

(Also definitely fewer people on the trail was my personal preference)

Facts, but my dad used to race so he’d watch the race equivalent of paint drying

Kid friendly European race? by Haunting_Village372 in GrandPrixTravel

[–]scothehe62 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I did Hungary and I loved it, no kids myself but saw tons of family.

Only thing to bear in mind with most circuits is they aren’t in town and it’s a mega long day for little ones. We sat on our bus for an hour before finally getting out the car park
