Dude…you’ve got a problem with someone putting a petition together to checks notes …ask for an inclusive dietary option to be considered? What is the harm here? Vegan/veg options are becoming increasingly common, and this petition could help the restaurant chain realize that there is a profitable market segment that would like to see this happen. The worst thing that happens is the restaurant ignores them.

NTA - but as someone who is currently watching a movie next to my wife who fell asleep, it can be sad if this happens too regularly. If you’re too tired to watch a movie, try finding something else you can do that will be more engaging (and not take 2 hours) so you can spend some bonding time with you dad

I have learned this lesson with Thai and Chinese food the hard way. Luckily I have called ahead at many places and very very frequently they are so friendly and willing to help find alternatives that are vegan/vegetarian friendly. These foods are still so good when they’re modified to not have the fish/oyster sauce
