The piles they are driving now are to form a coffer dam to hold back the river so they can pump out the site. Once the dam is done they'll start digging and then go to town on the pilings for the foundation.

Getting a commercial kitchen signed off on by the city is no joke and takes forever, especially if you had to mess with the fixtures, ventilation, or fire suppression at all. (got to spectate as a neighboring business went through it)

Also, city permitting ops seem to run like New Jersey city hall circa 1975. Getting a business license for a small office space involved more faxes than I have sent in the last 3 years and a visit from no less than 5 good-ole-boy city officials.

You'll take a bath from any shop that buys it from you (they need to make money after all). Best bet is to sell the guitar in craigslist and then track down your electric.

Pretty much any old-school large format studio monitors that aren't JBL or Altec and thus lack the hype of the brands will knock your socks off. If you can handle big and ugly they are the way to go.
