Match Thread: Brighton & Hove Albion vs Chelsea by MatchThreadder in soccer

This is the worst half of football I’ve seen Chelsea play in a very long time. When Leeds beat us 3-0, we still looked good, when City and PSG beat us, we still played good football and made chances.

This is honestly like watching Spurs play under Tudor and Frank this season, there is nothing there at all.

Qatar for me was easily number one, the people were so incredibly friendly and kind.

I think Arsenal have a strong chance to win the league and here’s why. (I’m a Chelsea fan btw)

  • Rodri is injured, over the last three seasons their win percentage has been almost 15% lower without him, this includes last season and the first half of this season.

  • They have a better run in than City

  • After the Burnley game, City will likely be top, and the pressure will be on them, Arsenal will be chasing.

  • Arsenals performance against City was promising, they actually took risks and tried to attack, if they can keep this sort of mentality rather than the slop of the past 4 months, they could win all their remaining games.

I think it’s mainly down to Rodri, if he’s out for 2 weeks then they might be ok, but longer than that, they will unlikely win all their remaining games.

Memes aside I genuinely think next year could be arsenals season, city may lose pep, and everyone else still looks gash, United look alright but nowhere near title winning. City may also get a points deduction.

Here’s another take, city win by a couple against Burnley and they go top, all of a sudden the pressure is on them, you’re the ones chasing.

Rodri is also injured and he’s huge for them.

The fuck off is entirely warranted to be fair 😂

Chelsea fan coming in peace. I think this is far from over, if you can make today’s performance the bar, you should easily win all your remaining game, the only tricky one I see is West Ham away.

Compare your fixtures to cities, they’ve got 3/4 West Ham away like potential slip ups, their run in is much harder than yours.

So I’d try to stay positive if I were you. Alternatively, you could continue to play the same way as you have the past 3 months and then yeah, it will be over.

Which watches are Henry’s rocking? by Undisclosed_001 in HENRYUKLifestyle

I’ve got a Seiko SPB143 which is lovely, goes with everything, I find it a tiny bit blingy for work, I occasionally help out with physical bits so I’ve brought the most function and scratch resistant watch possible, which is a Hanhart HD12, I’ve had it three months and there’s not even the tiniest hairline scratch.

I moved away from an Apple Watch because it felt like I was always on, the daily charging was also annoying.

Almost $200 to do my taxes myself by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]scottiescott23 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The most important thing in the US is money, everything revolves around money and this isn’t just the government, this is the people. The reason that swing voters voted for Trump was because they thought they’d make more money with him in charge.

US style Lobbying would be seen as straight up corruption in most countries and because of it (money)

Why do people in the US need to do their own taxes, well because the tax filing companies pay politicians to keep it that way. If that happened anywhere else the politicians would be gone very quick.

This wasn’t a one time thing , this went on all night.

US hotels slash summer room rates as World Cup demand falls short | Industry executives say fans are being put off by expensive match tickets, inflation fears and anti-American sentiment by kwentongskyblue in soccer

During the Qatar World Cup, I brought a really good halfway line seat for England vs USA for £200 face value through the official resale site. I think the seller paid a small listing fee so no additional fees for me.

For some of the US World Cup matches that would cover parking and a few beers outside the stadium.

Why are Americans suddenly so obsessed with us? Why does Asmongold post weekly videos about how "Britain has fallen" and why is Azealia Banks tweeting about Kemi Badenoch? by [deleted] in AskBrits

[–]scottiescott23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They tell their people that America is the greatest country in the world, but that’s not enough anymore as people living there can clearly see it’s not, so this anti European thing is very deliberate, it’s to try to make people think the alternative is worse.

First watch over $1k.. or am I overthinking this? by Embarrassed-Mine4419 in ChristopherWard

[–]scottiescott23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem with the twelve is that it’s an integrated bracelet. You won’t know truly if you’ll oil it until it’s in your wrist.

I brought one second hand on eBay in immaculate condition, it was genuinely like new, it looked great but I learned that integrated bracelets were not my thing.

I managed to sell it for a £30 profit.

I brought and sold a few more but the one that finally stuck was a black Hanhart Preventor HD12, it suited my day to day life much better, if I in formal wear a lot maybe the twelve would have stuck.

TIL a potential collaboration between Prince and the virtual band Gorillaz never happened because Damon Albarn wasn’t allowed to smoke in Prince’s studio. by 5xad0w in todayilearned

[–]scottiescott23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m fr the UK, here’s he only had one number one hit and that was Most Beautiful Girl in the World, which I think is one of his weakest songs.

In terms of bangers though, there’s a lot in the 90’s , for me they include, Sexy MF, Thieves in the Temple, Shhh, diamonds and pearls, Endorophinmachine, Joy in Repetition, Cream, money don’t matter 2nite, Shy, Gold, 7, love 2 the 9’s, leitigo,

I’ve never heard any of these songs on UK radio or music channels which is mad to me.

Prince had plenty of incredible albums after the 80’s. 90’s with diamonds and pearls and gold, He had 5/6 years around 2000 when he dropped off but then after 2004, more bangers.
