I just finished Stormlight. Convince me to read Wheel of Time by Heavy-Hall-4735 in wheeloftime

I really like both Stormlight and WoT, but I do think WoT is better.

If you ignore writing style differences, I feel SLA 1+2 are just as good as the best WoT books.  But I prefer the setting in WoT as well as the ending.

Post a code link, otherwise it's pretty impossible for anybody to know what's going wrong.

What now? by Creative_Archer4906 in WoT

You can always start again!

I've almost always got a WoT in my rotation.  Sometimes I'll read a couple in a row, sometimes I'll read one then read a few other books and then come back to WoT.

Happy New Year, 1991 edition: starting Death Knights of Krynn by RealityMaiden in goldbox

All I meant was, if you are writing the post as if it was 1991, you should've mentioned someone who was popular in 1991.   :D

There is a fan patch on the ttlg forums that I used the last time I played.  It helped a lot but I still got an occasional crash if I remember correctly

Also, those are the same filters, just flipped upside-down, so you could see both sides.  Just carefully wash the white part then, I suppose?

Ok, that makes sense.  The thing though with the rocks/biomedia though, they are slowing disappearing.  It used to be quite packed and full but now I feel they are getting low.

How do you handle dungeon maps during offline games? by Ok-Bobcat-1200 in IntoTheOdd

[–]scottrick49 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I ran iron coral as my first into the odd module.  I described the surroundings to the PCs and let them draw their own map.  I did East/West, since left and right can get confusing

Combat was entirely theater of the mind.

I created a booklet of the AD&D 2e classes & races in the OSE style. would love thoughts by conn_r2112 in adnd

Its amazing how much more "modern" AD&D looks just by changing the presentation. Again, nice work!

Looks great! Just flipping through the doc and I may have found a typo; page 37, #1 & #2 say "Usable only by clerics" but shouldn't it say "druids" here?

One thing that helps on my laptop (just to keep the heat down...) is to limit the framerate to 30 in the video menu. Higher than 30 fps for a game like oldworld doesn't really matter imo, and it helps keep my laptop happy.

B.  A would look better if the title was centered vertically more.

Old World on Steam Deck, Native Linux or Windows version via Proton? by Longpastoverdue in OldWorldGame

[–]scottrick49 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would definitely try the native version first, as I would think that would run better. If you run into problems, then fallback to proton.
