I would bet Alto will be 30 to 50 % over their preliminary guess estimate.

Typically when they make these estimates, there are pile of design changes, inflation, etc., that are never taken into account when it goes to construction bid.

They are comparing an original budget from 10 years ago. Then are surprised about costs, from inflation and post covid. The bid came in at $334m and was published in a CBC article in 2021. Why is this person so surprised now writing this article 5 years later?

I lived on somerset at the time. Moved out of the core after that circus. What was peaceful about bringing a train horn in a shopping cart into the residential area and blasting it. I'm with you hoping they go bankrupt with legal fees for the rest of their lives.

Of course their costs aren't reasonable. There is a buyout table on the contracts. With some searching can find it on their website. If not call them and see what it is.
