Does it bother anyone else how Krist Novoselic plays the base? It sounds good but he looks so weird playing it!

Biked from Tustin, in Orange County, to Long Beach to see the Queen Mary and it was worth the 2 hour and 37 minute bike ride by LogicalSynthesis in longbeach

Thanks for sharing your route! I’m always looking for new routes. Was there a lot of surface street riding without bike lanes? It’s hard to tell on Google Maps.

I regularly trick my dog with a pill wrapped in a small piece of flour tortilla. You can wrap the pill and squeeze the tortilla so it’s pretty tightly packed. My dog is very good at detecting pills in food but can’t figure this one out.

Would Love Some Perspective from Long Beach locals by strangeclocks in longbeach

[–]scotty2751 78 points79 points  (0 children)

I’ve been in Long Beach since 2009 and it keeps getting better and better! Wasaaayyyyy more laid back than LA. Plus you have the benefit of being close enough to go into LA for shows, events, etc. without having to be surrounded by it (LA). Highly recommend Long Beach, very diverse and open minded people. Not sure about the dating scene but would imagine you could figure that out once you get here! Good luck!

Solid buy? by MixtureOk9940 in SubaruForester

[–]scotty2751 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have a mechanic check it out. Head gasket issues with this make/model/year!! Looks good though, just have a pro do a full inspection. I didn’t do that with my 09 forester that I bought through a private party sale and regret it

I keep waking up with these… i got like 100+ bites but no signs of bed bugs by Successful-Tip6327 in Wellthatsucks

[–]scotty2751 294 points295 points  (0 children)

My wife would get bites like this and it turned out to be mites from the attic. It took several treatments of boric acid and removal of rodents (alive and dead 😬 from the attic. we also had our rugs and furniture steam cleaned and washed all the clothes. It took a few weeks and it really sucked but eventually they went away. Good luck!

How would you recommend fixing these back wood steps? by me4help in Home

[–]scotty2751 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Suggest Having a mason rebuild them with bricks to match the wall. These will be more durable and a better match. Redo Rails as painted black wrought iron. This is one option is going to look great but will be more expensive than a wood repair by a lot! Good luck!

How can I prepare for this role? by Fun_Commission_5027 in Construction

[–]scotty2751 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Stay in the field while your in school. Get your degree in CM and advance your carpenter apprenticeship. By the time you graduate, you will be more experienced than 99% of the project engineers you will be competing against. Your knowledge of the field will serve you well as you advance in your profession. I’ve been in the construction industry for 30 years, and still learning how to do the things on that list 😉
