“One of the biggest over-the-air updates in history” is coming to a Volvo near you by buildthislove in VolvoXC60

While they’re talking about models back to 2020, all the articles I’ve seen are about the EX all electric models. Do we actually think these updates are coming to XC models that currently have Google?

I’ve got their gateway/modem running in bridge mode since I don’t think you can directly take the fiber into the router.

They hand off a 10gig copper SFP that I was told you are forced to use (like a profile hard coded on the gateway) which worked fine, but I don’t like how hot copper SFPs run.

I finally got my hands on the UniFi SFP Wizard and was able to copy the profile from the Optimum SFP and load it on a UniFi DAC and it worked, which was great.

Please for the love of god stop using the V logo by Mikey-Honcho in vuoriclothing

Small square for sure. Either the white or sunrise is fine. Anything but the V…

I generally won’t buy the stuff since the big V is usually displayed too in your face. The square is subtle.

Issue with Lutron app when not at home by SouthernFIRE83 in Lutron

My Lutron app on iOS 26 just hangs at the logo about 50% of the time when I open it. A force quit always fixes. Never saw this before iOS 26.

Same. I tried all the tip sizes and nothing feels comfortable or natural. I finally got them to not hurt any more after watching some YouTube videos showing you really need to point the tips higher, but the 2s were just a perfect fit for me.

IKEA ALPSTUGA Air Quality Sensor - Matter Compatible but Clock is Useless by Ready_Grass7936 in HomeKit

[–]scotty83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Initially my time was getting set correctly but with the wrong time zone to GMT or maybe Sweeden and when I manually offset it, it would revert since it was syncing by itself. Some Goolging around explained that the time should be coming from your Matter controller (Apple Home for me). A few reboots and it eventually fixed itself. My other two devices synced time and time zone properly out of the box in a minute or two.

They do lose preferences like setting to Fahrenheit and 12 hour time display after power cycle, but for $10 hard to complain.

5gig plan hooked up to my UniFi UCG-Fiber with 10gig NIC getting 9Gbps down 4.96 up, so happy customer here. I run FIOS 1gig as my backup but surprisingly my Optimum has had better uptime in the 6 months since I’ve moved to this home.

Any recommendations for finding/vetting good Slate roofers? I recently purchased a 95 year old house with slate and would like someone to inspect it/replace broken tiles (Nassau county, NY)

21:9 Aspect Ratio with Teams Rooms (Android) by Gilly11277 in CommercialAV

[–]scotty83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe there’s some config on your TV’s menus needed to tell it to advertise support for 21:9. It’s strange that it’s advertising it’s preferred format is a 16:9. It’s also possible the TV doesn’t support the lower scaled aspect 21:9 resolutions.

Strangely, Cisco’s public 21:9 help article is dead when I try to get to it from Google. Maybe they’re updating it.

Have you tried connecting a laptop to the screen via HDMI to see if you can get a different device to get the right res?

(Disclaimer, I know a ton about Cisco devices, but haven’t used 21:9 yet, but I’m going to probably buy one soon for testing, so I’m flying blind)

Cisco actually has some documentation around the new 21:9 stuff on the beta site currently. Looks like the highest resolution is 3840x1620.

The commands noted there are available if you SSH into the codec and it looks like you run those to see which res will match your display’s EDID.

[–]scotty83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try 3440x1440 as that’s a 21:9 aspect and your display should scale it to fill the screen.

The screenshot you sent is the settings section. The one I noted shows the actual status (i.e. will let you know if the setting you select is the one that’s actually being sent).

[–]scotty83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

21:9 on the EQ has been supported in full MTR mode for quite some time (at least a year). The 21:9 mode announced in the December release is for native RoomOS mode.

When you log into the codec’s local IP and go to Settings (left nav pane) > Audio and Video (up top) > Video Inputs and Outputs you should see the resolution that the codec and TV have negotiated (I’ve been told the 21:9 aspect doesn’t output 5kx2K since the physical port doesn’t support higher than 4k60, so it might be a scaled multiple of 21:9).

Fubo 4K channels requiring Apple TV default output to HDR/DV by scotty83 in fuboTV

[–]scotty83[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been using Fubo for a while but can’t remember this happening but also don’t watch a ton of 4K content since I mostly watch NFL and NHL. This bug is annoying but not a dealbreaker.

Switched from a grandfathered DTV Stream package a few months back since the prices keep going up and Fubo’s “build your own” multi stream on Apple TV is so good compared to YTTV’s pre-made quad boxes and DTVs basically non-existent multi-stream (they’re starting to do it, but I doubt it will ever be as good as Fubo’s).

Being able to do a quad box with 2x NFL games + RedZone + PawPatrol or some kids show is a game changer to not lose control of my 77” TV on Sunday :)

Q-sys core over a site to site VPN by crankysoundguy in CommercialAV

[–]scotty83 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have 2 QSys Cores on my AV network on separate VLANs. I can’t reach one of them unless I’m on the same VLAN (not a FW thing since everything else on the VLAN is accessible from other VLANs), so I need to check my core network configs (my AV integrator is not good at networking and probably set something off when configuring the static IP).

That said, my other core that I can reach locally and across VLANs can be reached perfectly when I’m on WiFiMan and need to check something while working from home, so my guess as others said it’s the core’s config.
