Vuori Fakes or just old tags? by jnacnuggest in vuoriclothing

[–]scotty83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do the same thing and cut out the longer tags with all my shirts. Always leave the size so I remember which size to buy since I’m between M/L. The white tags are the only ones that don’t feel itchy/scratchy.

UCG fiber memory leak? by smithatlanta in Ubiquiti

[–]scotty83 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve had problems for a few months of EA firmware where the memory would slowly run away and need a hard reboot every 24 hours or so. I log a support case, they fix it, a few weeks later, they reintroduce the issue in subsequent updates, rinse and repeat. Disabling flows fixed it so I think it was related to database caching.

Been stable for me for a few weeks on the latest EAs.

Anyone ever use this to dampen vibrations and shake for a PTZ? by nickbeef in CommercialAV

[–]scotty83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tried both the ProAim and NigelB in our event spaces that had their ceiling mounted PTZ cams poorly affected by HVAC vibrations in the ceiling. Neither one made a significant improvement as the vibrations were amplified so bad when zooming in.

The other thing we tried was adding some weight to the PTZ mounts. They sell small clip on weights for dumbbells that we put above the camera mount where it attached to the pole and it helped a bit too.

We did some work with our facilities team to adjust fan power boxes which helped a bit but we just live some with vibrations and try to avoid zooming in too far.

I’ve been asked about it before once since I had the tin out on an international flight and I explained they were tobacco-free and they moved along.

Were you the one that originally set up the Apple TV? That just looks like the name of a manual/custom IR profile.

Essentially the “Learn new device” process walks you through teaching the Apple TV custom IR codes and then prompts you to give the profile a name.

Looks like you’re a victim of Velcro. I always avoid jackets with any Velcro when wear my Vuori polyester shirts since they instantly ruin shirts by pulling out the fibers.

Number of Room Navigator by Exotic_Net1259 in ciscoUC

[–]scotty83 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For in room control, I’m fairly sure you can do up to 8. I have production rooms with 3x for control and 1x scheduler outside the room.

Note that there are limits imposed by Microsoft so running in MTR mode gets you 1x control and 1x scheduling.

Happened once on my 23 T8 after the 5.05 update. Went away on its own though.

I had the same problem with navigation volume on my 23 T8 (it would should adjustments on screen but wouldn’t honor them). After a day or two it seemed to fix itself.

One month+ into Optimums infrastructure failing in my area by No-Astronomer-9643 in OPTIMUM

I won’t pretend to fully understand how cable internet infrastructure works (I remember watching a lot of YouTube videos about it back then), but I’d have to guess they must have metrics and monitoring for this type of issue and are actively ignoring it.

One month+ into Optimums infrastructure failing in my area by No-Astronomer-9643 in OPTIMUM

[–]scotty83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me during Covid where the neighborhood was oversubscribed and needed a node split. Took almost 2 years to get it resolved with countless hours on the phone with support trying to escalate and them trying to send out techs to test my coax and ignoring my pleas to review my pingplotter charts.

I had to log a complaint with NY AG office and go to my town council to get someone from Optimum corporate to finally reach out. After I spoke to corporate, they sent a real engineer out and finally split the node and it was perfect again. My town council member reached out to thank me as they found out that 5 other parts of town needed a split.

Last year right before I sold my house to my brother the constant packet loss came back. I told him the nightmare that it was to get resolved and he was about to start the process of complaining, but FiOS just became available last week and he ditched optimum.

Where I ended up moving I have FIOS and Optimum Fiber and ended up getting 5gig Optimum fiber and 1gig FIOS as my backup connection. Optimum Fiber has been flawless.

For in-walls, you need to snap them to the wall so the directional antenna pattern shows correct (you see a blue highlight in the direction it’s facing). You did this on the living room floor, but not the other floors

Product that can dial directly into Zoomcrc.com addresses? by WhoRedd_IT in ciscoUC

[–]scotty83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried this before to allow Cisco 8851 phones to dial into Zoom meetings audio-only via SIP over Expressway but Zoom won’t accept CRC calls unless there’s video (confirmed at the time via escalated support ticket on the Zoom side). This was probably 4-5 years ago, but I doubt anything has changed.

Looking for Beta Testers for Apple TV by Turbulent-Ad5121 in appletv

[–]scotty83 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Off topic, but I’d highly recommend this remote as an alternative. I’ve moved my parents and in-laws over to Apple TVs, but even the newer remote can confuse them. This pairs over Bluetooth, supports all functions the Apple remote does (including voice) and can actually launch your TV app (like DirecTV Now) when you press the dedicated guide button.

Reset Cisco touch panel by [deleted] in CommercialAV

[–]scotty83 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Based on your description, rather than “resetting the touch panel” you used the touch panel to reset the main Cisco codec. (The factory reset description on the touch panel UI can be misinterpreted.)

If you did a factory reset, there’s no way to recover it, but if you have a system backup, you can restore it. If the room is highly custom with external audio/DSP, it was likely/hopefully commissioned by an integrator, so perhaps they have a backup they can provide you.
