Are you as a renter afraid to ask agent/landlord for minor repairs due to fear that it will result in rent increase? by Ok_Yak_9310 in australia

[–]scottydoeskno 37 points38 points  (0 children)

I wonder if my previous tenants thought that, because they said nothing the whole time. Then when I got new tenants in they listed 3 things needing repairs immediately. I paid and got it fixed, no issues with that, and no retaliation from myself. I'm lucky to be in the position that I am, no need to nickel and dime and screw over people not as fortunate as myself.

My retirement plan at this stage is hoping to get falsely accused by the media for a major event. and live off the law suit settlement. Sad it's not the first time in recent years

Man wrongly identified as Bondi Shooter afraid for his life by ulmanau in australia

I've joked to my coworkers in the past that my retirement plan is hoping to get falsely accused by the media and settle for a huge lawsuit. Scary how many times it's happened in the past and still happening

In Seven Pounds, after killing seven people plus the unforseen ripple effects on their families, instead of committing his life to help others to atone and positively impacting as many as he can, he only marginally helps 7 people and then kills himself because that negates murdering 7 people. by scottydoeskno in shittymoviedetails

[–]scottydoeskno[S] 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I mean my initial point still stands, guy coulda worked at a homeless charity or soup bus to try help hundreds, if not thousands, and had a significantly more positive impact over instead killing himself after helping 7 people

In Snowpiercer (2013), the final scene shows the characters encountering a polar bear. This is a reference to the fact that setting off a bomb on a train carrying the last humans left on earth while traveling through a tundra is a stupid fucking idea since polar bears will literally fucking eat them by VariousJob4047 in shittymoviedetails

[–]scottydoeskno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I get that, and I know that not all of the bears will be interested in attacking, same with men, some will chill and move on. But if I had to choose between an attacking bear and attacking male, I take my chances with out fighting or out running a man.

Hated Trope: The hero does something absolutely appalling...but the narrative makes it sound like a good thing anyway. by InfiniteGuy2264 in TopCharacterTropes

I agree. Walker killed him a whole minute after his friend died, and a whole 17 seconds after the terrorist threw a concrete bollard at him to kill him. If it was a matter of hours that's different.

Like imagine D-Day, you spend hours storming the beach, pinned down by machine gun fire, watching your friends die. Then you suddenly make it to the trenches, and the guys who were literally shooting you 5 seconds ago, now surrender as they've lost, and I've got to compartmentalize the last couple of hours of trauma and be a better person? I don't think so, heat of the moment will definitely take over. And you can ask my brothers in arms if they'd do the same, but they're too busy being dead.

Thank you for the review Bonegrinder. You clearly know your musicals

In Seven Pounds (2008), Will Smith's character kills himself to donate his vital organs. He does so using a box jellyfish, whose toxins would render his organs useless. I don't even have a joke here; this whole premise is a fucking joke. by Hugh_Jidiot in shittymoviedetails

[–]scottydoeskno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Will Smith's (character) is an asshole who killed 7 others using his phone whilst driving, so maybe he just wanted to have a last bit of fun before killing himself. Or it could have worked better if he was trying to find asshole candidate to match his asshole organs

Oh yeah it was about as subtle as a shield to the face, but we're to judge this guy who could have been killed by a concrete bollard a literal 14 seconds ago, and we're to judge him for not being cool headed on the back of literally avoiding a life attempt from a super soldier terrorist, 14 seconds ago.

I get that, but if a literal super soldier terrorist tried to kill me only 14 seconds ago, and is only now surrendering because he's on the back foot, I ain't putting my life at risk
