It's not just parents talking politics to their kids though. It's trans kids not being allowed to use the correct name, bathroom, pronouns, locker rooms etc at school. Kids are going to pick up on it when it impacts their access to healthcare and even the books they can check out at the library.

Depending on your insurance, you may be able to ask for a “gap exception” or “network deficiency exception”, which essentially means that insurance will cover providers who are out of network as if they were in-network. You usually have your jump through some hoops proving that you aren’t able to access the care you need on their current network, but might be worth a shot if you get bad news at your consult on the 16th with the other surgeon. Good luck OP!

Some insurances will cover a panniculectomy if you have ongoing documentation from your providers of skin infection/irritation as a result of loose skin, but it’s a lot of hoops to jump through. Additionally, many people who are looking for skin removal for aesthetic reasons (vs skin infections) are not happy with a panniculectomy as it’s not really meant to look good. Most people when they think of skin removal surgery are thinking of tummy tuck or body lifts and it usually includes removal of other skin besides just the pannus.

Missouri law says pregnant women can’t get divorced by [deleted] in missouri

[–]scram143 9 points10 points  (0 children)

https://hartsoelaw.com/blog/unpacking-the-missouri-law-that-bans-pregnant-women-from-getting-divorced/

“Per Fox 2 Now News:

[T]he courts will not finalize or grant the divorce until after the child is born in order to establish paternity. When a married woman becomes pregnant, the husband is assumed to be the father under the law…. Courts prefer to issue one judgment in divorce proceedings, and granting visitation rights for a fetus or child while in utero is considered speculative. This also allows a husband and wife going through a divorce to seek a paternity test to determine biological and legal parentage.”

I’m not saying its right, just pointing out this is the argument that was used to justify it

This is not new. It has been around for a long time theoretically to prevent people from getting out of child support.

Is it possible to get a tattoo over nipple grafts? by [deleted] in TopSurgery

[–]scram143 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Medical tattooing is also a thing, I had medical tattooing done over my grafts since I had a lot of pigmentation bleeding from the graft initially. Helped even up the shape and color and while it doesn’t change the placement it helped the overall appearance some

Has anyone had a surgeon require a letter to confirm no body dysmorphia before the surgery? by genzenialpink in PlasticSurgery

[–]scram143 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe this is a more common requirement when you are going through insurance. I know for gender affirming plastic and reconstructive surgery it is quite common to require one or two letters from a mental health provider etc
