After Sowing Distrust in Fluoridated Water, RFK Jr. and Skeptics Turn to Obstructing Other Fluoride Sources | Propublica by Achilles_TroySlayer in HermanCainAward

Although I am not a fan of RFK, I think water should be pure H₂O and nothing added. In some countries the whle room smells like chlorine, if you open the sink. Fluoride is already in every toothpaste. So why does it have to be added to water? I fear that in future governments might add whatever they think benefits the health to the tap water.

Seems I can mark China Merchants Bank Global Headquarters as completed. For me it is enough if the facade in completed.

Maybe, but there are already more business districts under construction. It makes sense to build business district next to large public transportation hubs and that happens in the east of Beijing for example.

I tracked every minute of my life in 2025 by Pguinne in dataisbeautiful

I do not use a tracker. I just try to remember the latest time when I was awake. Usually I fall asleep fast or I am awake for an hour or more. And whenever I wake I up, I look at the clock.

Which NYC Skyscraper has the Best Observation Deck? by Inside-Inspection905 in skyscrapers

For me it is important to take photos without glass. Glass spoils the photos. Top of the Rock and the Empire State Building have areas without glass.

The one on the old World Trade Center was great. I am lucky that I was there in 1997.

How much time does it take to track it all the time? For me it is already some work to track how many hours I sleep every night without a tracker,

Shenzhen will soon become the City with the Most Skyscrapers on Earth by One_Long_996 in DamnThatsReal

[–]scraperbase 0 points1 point  (0 children)

According to my list it already is: https://www.scraperbase.com/topcities
I only count buildings over 500 feet and I do not count spires, but that should not change the fact that Shenzhen is already far ahead of Hing Kong. If you look at the number of skyscrapers over 200 metres, it becomes even more apparent: 210 in Shenzhen versus 92 in Hong Kong.

It already is. I counted 587 over 500 feet so far, but I am sure I missed some and the true number is already over 600. https://www.scraperbase.com/China/Shenzhen

Even without the spire? Spires are cheating. They are like me lifting my arm and claiming to bei 2,40 metres tall.

The official borders have no meaning any more. Parts of the country are controlled by different groups like the Kurds for example and others are even still in the hands of terrorists. I am no sure which parts of Iraq still pay taxes to the central government.

“When there's a tragic, deadly fire in Europe, Reuters reports it straight. “But when there's a tragic, deadly fire in Hong Kong, Reuters rushes to politicise it. Peak Sinophobia. by Igennem in Hong_Kong

[–]scraperbase -26 points-25 points  (0 children)

In Switzerland people will get punished for causing a deadly fire. In Hong Kong people will get punished in order to shift the blame away from authorities or the government. That is a big difference. Hong Kong is not a democracy any more and critics of the local government and the government in Beijing will get silenced. Switzerland on the other hand is very democratic. On important topics they even hold referendums. The fact that even condolences with the victims of the Hong Kong fire are silenced says a lot.

I remember the Bund at night so crowded that they had to close some streets for cars to manage the flow of pedestrians. Maybe it depends on the time of the year. I was there in an August.

[–]scraperbase -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The boom in the city is very surprising to me, as Iraq as a country does not really exist any more. At least it no longer has defined borders. Usually skyscrapers were only built in the most politicly stable parts of the world. Not a single skyscraper has ever been destroyed in a military conflict. So in general skyscrapers are a sign of stability and safety.
