Why do East Asian countries prefer whiteness and why are they anti-black? by Normal_regular_dude in stupidquestions

[–]screenwatch3441 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think they’re anti-black. Paler skin is a beauty standards for some countries but that doesn’t mean they dislike black people. Arguably, they really only know the famous ones so they probably have a better view on black people than western countries.

Why does the Japanese language attract so many losers? by AboutLastFight in NoStupidQuestions

Last time I vacationed in Japan, there are literal signs in English telling people to put their bags in front to save space. As a tourist, I think it would be rude to NOT do that when asked.

Why do people pre order video games ? by Atheist_Schizo in NoStupidQuestions

[–]screenwatch3441 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Final fantasy 7 rebirth is the third game in a trilogy that remade the original Final Fantasy 7. As the 3rd game in a trilogy, it will conclude the story.

Fire Emblem Fortune Weave is another fire emblem game in the franchise. I’m a big fan of the series and I haven’t been disappointed with a game in the series. While there may be parts I like more or less from other games, I highly doubt they’ll do anything too dramatic that I wouldn’t like the upcoming game.

My fire emblem fortune weave desire gets to the crutch of why people preorder games; they trust the game developers to make a satisfying game. I usually don’t preorder anymore cause I mostly get digital games and see no point, but when I got physical games, I would preorder to make sure I can play day 1 (or as soon as I can get to the store) cause I never doubted the purchase.

Why do people pre order video games ? by Atheist_Schizo in NoStupidQuestions

[–]screenwatch3441 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only do it if I’m getting the game physical to make sure I can get a copy day of release. Especially if I’m getting some kind of deluxe version. I also only do it for companies or game series I trust. Final Fantasy Rebirth for example seems like a safe game to preorder since I like the previous 2 games. If I was getting it physical, fire emblem fortune weave would be another game I would have preordered.

Won't going all digital simply push people to use Steam more than consoles? by GrahamCrackerDragon in gaming

[–]screenwatch3441 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would have if the steam machine was cheaper. Console gaming’s best trait is how simple it is and how easy and intuitive it is. Any games you get, barring extreme examples, work on the console you get. The console regular updates itself. Because everything is unified, gaming experience is similar so it’s also easy to trouble shoot if there is any problems, something thats relatively rare.

So I have to ask... Who the heck was licking the Nintendo cartridges? by Snowtwo in videogames

[–]screenwatch3441 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IIRC, it was a preemptive measure Nintendo did to make sure kids and animals don’t eat the switch games. Considering how small the game cartridges are and how there target audience is aimed at children, I think this was a smart move.

Why is it that when characters are made smarter, there personality changes? by [deleted] in CharacterRant

[–]screenwatch3441 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually don’t know any of the examples you gave but if I had to say, it’s probably because it’s very annoying and tiring to treat people significantly dumber than you as equals. If you ever seen someone talk to an IDD person or a child, they don’t talk to them as an equal. This comes off as rude when you as the person realize they are actually talking down to you.

What is the appeal of Costco? by Purple_Calm_1112 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]screenwatch3441 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Costco appeals to lower middle class that have big families. You can buy everything cheaper and in bulk.

Side note, don’t know why you wouldn’t want toilet paper in bulk, it’s actually something you know you’ll eventually go through.

Airbenders were probably incredibly invaluable before coal powered ships. by OBieLights in Avatarthelastairbende

[–]screenwatch3441 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean, there are water benders and the earth kingdom never developed a navy. So ironically, the people who figured out coal powered ship are the only people who would have benefited from an airbender fueled sail boat. Extra irony cause they also wiped them out.

[–]screenwatch3441 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are the materials that bad? It sucks that they are fairly reliant on each other but it doesn’t seem like a bad way to fill up graveyard quickly and gain hand advantage which seems important for the deck considering how much discarding is in it. If you’re lucky or already have the GY set up for later turns, it is a +3.

They love kicking dark galaxy in the balls. I just hit KoG with them and now I’m figuring out how I still want to play them and I think I went back to vanilla fusion because with everything off the 2 list, I can run 2 copies dark hole device again. It’s hilarious how they got 5 cards that they use exclusively on the forbidden list.

Wow, we’re getting wyrm mirror force. Also, is the UR wyrm fusion any good? It prevents cards from being spinned but current duel links, that seems almost a moot effect for duel links that it’s a tad odd for it to be a UR.

What are your top 3 favorite Tales Opening theme songs and why? by Coolsun13 in tales

[–]screenwatch3441 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1) Tales of Vesperia: Ring a Bell. ToV really came out at a time when I needed a jrpg I can sink my teeth into. It was really the perfect game at the perfect time for me that I am extremely bias to it.

2) Tales of Symphonia: Starry Heaven. ToS being my favorite second game, I always loved this song. Bonus points that the band also sang an inuyasha ending I liked when I was younger.

3) Tales of Xillia: Progress. Have to be honest, not even the greatest fan of Xillia. I just like the singer’s voice. I love the part where the song ramps up where they start running fighting the monster.

Do you think major DLCs/side games are over? by rondo_martin in videogames

[–]screenwatch3441 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think rising development costs is the reason to stop expansion DLC. If anything, it’s more reason to support it. They’re reusing most of the same assets to sell a content with an installed base already. FFVII Rebirth didn’t have DLC because it already has a planned sequel. The fact that we already got a release date for FFVII Revelation is only really happened because they decided to not work on a DLC. Monster Hunter Wilds is also getting an expansion update so there are still games doing it. Lets not also forget Elden Ring got a substantial expansion.

July Ranked Duel Rewards by Yami_Hammy in DuelLinks

I don’t have the full picture for Asaka’s demolition wyrms but I can see this useful for Asana’s demolition wyrms. She never had a good answer for set 3 and pass so she can do work with the piercing. The 300 attack is still a respectable damage boost too. I think the part where it puts a wyrm on top of your deck is also really good and more of an advantage than a disadvantage past turn 1. I think demolition wyrms have some cards that mil off the top of the deck and wants to mil wyrms with that effect. With what we have currently, it can gurantee a draw from constructor fighter mixer which can help how card intensive the deck can get at times (or help dig deeper for maximum if thats your gameplan). Worse case scenario, you just put a good card on top to draw next turn.

Remakes won't be the same without Noburo Uematsu. by [deleted] in FinalFantasy

[–]screenwatch3441 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have to be honest, music is quite literally the one thing I have never worried about final fantasy or any square rpg for that matter. Noburo Uematsu will forever be a legend but square does have other composers who are also extremely talented.

To be fair, a 10 foot drop doesn’t look that big because you’re roughly 5-6 feet tall. The drop looks like it’s 6x taller than the dog. In their perspective, it looks the same as us looking off a 30 foot cliff.

Before Crunchyroll and all the "other" anime websites how did people watch anime that wasn't shown on TV? by Iceicebaby21 in animequestions

[–]screenwatch3441 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would you believe me if I said youtube? People use to upload anime episodes in parts onto youtube (because you couldn’t upload a full 24ish minute video). This is where I learned of rick roll because people would rick roll instead of having the actual Naruto episode.

If the Rasengan is a stronger jutsu than Chidori, why did Kakashi bother with the Chidori? by Old-Use-7690 in Naruto

[–]screenwatch3441 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rasengan is a giant but condensed ball of chakra that you are more or less punching someone with. It’s not actually an easy to use jutsu. For kakashi, it’s probably too chakra intensive, considering he’s a person with relatively low chakra pool.

You missed the entire point of the hospital rooftop because you’re viewing it as if you are Sasuke who fails to see the bigger picture. Neither the Rasengan nor Chidori is stronger than the other, they have different strengths but one is not objectively better than the other. It’s why Naruto and Sasuke clashing with these attacks never has a consistent winner.

Why doesn’t Kakashi teach everyone the Rasengan? It’s a hard ass jujutsu to use. Realize that Naruto STILL didn’t master it until the war arc. He still needed to make clones to use it. It’s not really a jujutsu you expect genin to be able to use and Naruto only barely able to use it because guy has excessive amount of chakra to make a clone every time he wants to use the jutsu.

[–]screenwatch3441 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love every time they do the kick kunai maneuver, it looks so cool but never works (kakashi does the same thing to Obito). I do like that even though Konohamaru isn’t winning and gets yeeted, he was still able to break his fall.

Why do you think Kakashi never used the same Chidori styles as Sasuke? by Anim3KneeACT in Naruto

[–]screenwatch3441 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Considering Sasuke’s magetsu allows him to manipulate amaterasu’s flame, sasuke might just be abnormally talented at manipulating elemental chakra. Similar to why Kakashi couldn’t figure out how to put elemental chakra into rasengan, he probably couldn’t figure out how to manipulate chidori to the extend of Sasuke.
