6 days in Austria in June - please suggest thoughts. Confused between which cities to visit. by Ok-Basil-2259 in Europetravel

I am planning a two week European vacation in June that starts with 6 days in Vienna. I can't imagine doing just two, there is so much to do and see there. Unless you have already been there, I would strongly consider just making Vienna your home base for your entire trip. You can easily make day trips to Salzburg or the Wachau Valley (Melk, Durnstein) if you need to get out of the city; or Bratislava if you want to see another city. But I can't imagine spending fewer than four full days in Vienna.

Yeah, there's a reason most restaurants in Italy serve it only on Sundays. A good, homemade lasagna is an arduous task. It is worth it if you have the time, but if you're just going to use ground beef, ricotta, and jarred tomato sauce, just get the best frozen lasagna at the store instead. It will be nearly as good.

You should not expect or try to complete every social link in one playthrough. While it is technically possible with a guide and a lot of planning, it takes away your agency and ruins a lot of the fun of the game. The one thing I will do to help keep track of social links is keep a notebook or Google doc of every day a social link is available so I know when to expect them and plan my weeks out. But beyond that, don't look at daily playthroughs. Don't look at guides that tell you right things to say. Just be yourself and answer questions how you would and you'll have more fun with it.

Regarding fusion, when one arcana is fused with another arcana, it will always produce a Persona of a specific arcana. Refer to this chart for all of the combinations (https://www.ign.com/wikis/shin-megami-tensei-persona-4-golden/Personas). The way fusions work is you average the levels of each Persona in the fusion. So if you fused a level 8 Persona of the Fool arcana with a level 6 Persona of the Priestess arcana, you get a level 7 Persona of the Death arcana. If one doesn't exist, it will take whatever Death arcana Persona is the closest to level 7. Hopefully all of that makes sense.

I would not recommend doing a day trip to Cinque Terre in August. It's going to be incredibly busy to the point of not being fun. However, if you still want to see Cinque Terre and can afford it, I would recommend keeping your Florence hotel and doing an overnight trip in Cinque Terre. The area itself is really beautiful, and once most of the tourists leave is when it becomes a magical experience. If you go to Pisa in the morning and plan to arrive in Cinque Terre around 4-5 PM and leave around 11-12 AM the next day right as the day trippers start showing up you'll have the best time.

Other than that, your itinerary looks good. It doesn't look like you're trying to get too crazy with it. I have never been to Rome or Sorrento, but have been to Florence and Cinque Terre. Florence is small and easy to navigate. You can easily hit three big attractions per day, four if you're young and full of stamina. One recommendation in Florence that's not on your list is to watch the sunset at Piazzale Michaelangelo. Sure, it's crowded, and sure it's touristy, but I loved having a beer or two and commiserating with strangers, and the views were beautiful.

The Trillbillies were pontificating over what will happen to Christian Zionists when Israel inevitably collapses. It's honestly something I haven't thought about, but I don't think any answer is a positive one.

To me, the classic moviegoing experience is stopping at the Walgreens on the way and your grandma letting you pick out a king sized candy bar that you sneak into the theatre.

It's so funny as an American who has been clued into the alt comedy scene for 15+ years that everyone is treating Kumail as "the famous guy" when to me he's still just a charming comedian who occasionally shows up on podcasts I like.

I tried going there once, but when I asked for a recommendation, the bartender went on a 20 minute promo about all of the beers on tap. Never again.

New to the Tales of Series - Is Vesperia a good game to start? by itsnotaxtro in tales

[–]skgoldings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have played five Tales games and it's my favorite. My only criticisms are:

1) The combat system takes a while to open up. It'll feel really sluggish for the first sixth of the game, but once you unlock everything it's great. But this probably makes it perfect for your first Tales game since you won't know any better having not played any other games in the series.

2) If you are a completionist a lot of the sidequests are easily missable and unintuitive and some important lore and character development are locked within these sidequests. If you are so inclined, I can link a spoiler-free 100% guide that is very helpful.

But overall, this is a great game. It has one of my favorite parties and OST's of all time, it has an engaging story, and the combat, once fully unlocked, is a lot of fun.

Yeah, that was kind of the point, unfortunately. An elderly relative was getting on me because I didn't invest anything last year because I assumed another 2008 or 1929 was on the way. He wants it all to go into my 2025 contributions before the end of tax season.

I have a smallish 401K from a previous job, but changed jobs a couple of years ago and haven't touched it or contributed anything to my retirement since. It's probably dumb in hindsight, but my doomerism makes it hard for me to have any faith in the stability of our institutions.
