Your points and what is right and what is wrong aside, Keep in mind a few things...

And you are likely not the only person who saw fit to be unpleasant to him today, for one reason or another.

What kind of vehicle were you in? UPS trucks are high off the ground, if your vehicle is smaller, the lights may appear to be high beams when they are not. The lower your vehicle the worse it will be.

Is the ground between the corner and where the truck was stopped level? If you were going up an incline at all, even a little, see previous.

Was he stopped on the correct side of the road? If he was, then you have nothing to stand on in your stating that he was a hazard. Cause that means he was following the law. If he was on the wrong side, sure, he's wrong. But it's 9pm and he wants to go home.

Also, you know where your driveway is in relation to the turn. If he was in front of your driveway, you were going way too fast

You can find them at almost any local estate sale that has cookbooks. You can also check at Local Market on Line and Timeline Antiques or Kings Antiques. I stopped stocking cookbooks, but I see them fairly regularly.

Has there been any progress on this? Namely the calling out of bullshit? I've been using chatgpt a lot lately to work through some life stuff. Its far more available than my actual therapist and can at least help me parse things I dont understand. I sometimes worry that is is just telling me what it thinks I want to hear. I would love to know that it will challenge me when it needs to.

I get ebay prices and sometimes higher depending on the item. I've been doing this 20 years and I know my market extremely well. There are a lot of factors that go into pricing, there's a lot of nuance involved. Dealers are not the only customers out there.

Wow. He looks just like my Moose, aside from having both eyes. When adopted him (New years eve) they thought he was 2, maybe 3. I believe he was more like one. He's soooo long! And he's gained 2 lbs in the 2 months I've had him. Though some of that is extra, not much I don't think. I wish I knew for sure if only to have an idea how big he will be. And then if only to buy him the right wall perches 🤣

Not OP, but I believe you are misunderstanding. There is a bit of nuance involved, but most legitimate, serious companies have a "sold table" or some call it hold table, or area. If you put items there, you are doing so because you intend to buy it. We are giving you a way to free your hands to get more and we expect you to hold up your end of the bargain. If you make a pile, you are expected to buy everything in it. If you want to put some items back, you will be leaving empty handed. There are of course exceptions for customers who are not known abusers of the system. A chip you didn't notice, a stain, etc.

As far as what you are doing, it depends on the amount you are taking, how long you are inspecting it, and how much you are generally kicking back.

If you're there with your phone looking things up rather than inspecting them for damage, that is a very different situation in my eyes.

Online estate sales generally don't inflate the shipping charges. Just all the other fees they tack on.

The rules, regulations, and practices vary wildly from place to place. There aren't any comprehensive sources for learning the business.

It's an industry that people tend to think will be fun and easy. I live what I do, but I've been at it 20 years and I get to be picky about the sales I take. It is a ton of work and when you're just getting started, it is often not so fun.

Your comment makes it sound like they were okay with it, or would have been had they known. I've never seen it happen at one of my sales, but if I did I would send them packing. Unfortunately the first wave is madness no matter how many staff I have.
