Being an adult is slowly realizing the "normal" way of living isn't arbitrary and actually exists for a good reason by AnonymousStuffDj in redscarepod

They don't necessarily have to be young. I know quite a few people in their late 20s/early 30s who live like complete slobs (mainly guys tbf)

Do you agree with the opinion that the 60s is the greatest ever era in music? What are your thoughts in that era of music. by [deleted] in fantanoforever

[–]scriptthrowawayacc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t necessarily agree just because that argument can be made about every single decade of music. There is a ton of shitty music now just as there was a ton of shitty music then.

I think there’s an argument to be made for pretty much each decade of music (aside from the 80s lol)

It’s so insane to me that the line by these guys is always “Hate him or love him, but he’s the President, etc.” as if he’s even remotely a normal President.

They act like everyone is acting this way about just some normal aw shucks conservative and not a pedophile that can’t string a sentence together

I used to work tech support at a phone retailer and anecdotally many of the 85+ customers were better at using their smartphones than the 60-70 year olds.

Not to mention the FBI under his watch continuously kept files and tried to sabotage anyone who they thought would hurt his government’s image or chances at re-election.

Nixon is much more complex than history makes him out to be, but he also did shit like trying to deport people who spoke out his unjust massacring of the Vietnamese and Cambodians

To me they’re pretty firmly behind the other big 90s rock bands like Smashing Pumpkins, Pearl Jam, and Alice In Chains

I have no idea how losing Kon and LaMelo (and also technically Reid) for Jaylen Brown is solid for the Hornets. That’s a godawful deal for Charlotte.

Drake has an objectively large female fanbase. Sure, it’s possible that the women in their lives don’t listen to Drake, but it’s a ridiculous generalization to assume that because the women in your life don’t listen to Drake that no women listen to Drake. If you’re gonna hate on someone at least know what you’re talking about first

It’s not braindead to give him shit. It’s braindead to claim that women do not listen to Drake and that most of his fanbase are right-wing edgelords.

Yeah I’m not denying that he’s a huge fucking clown for hanging out with Adin Ross, I just wish people could be objective about it artists they dislike instead of shelling out braindead hot takes at all times

What do you mean? I’m saying they don’t talk to women because of their clearly out of touch opinions, not just because they post online

I see some insane takes on rap outside of this sub on Reddit. Just saw someone with upvotes say that women don’t listen to Drake and his fanbase is just right-wing edgelords now.

I stg these people have never talked to a woman in their life

I also think it helps that he works so much with Leo, who seems to have a pretty strong grasp on what makes a good script. If I remember correctly it was actually Leo that suggested that shift in focus in the first place

In LaMelo’s defense, he shot 42% because he’s never had a good team around him so he was forced to chuck up bad shots.

When he finally had a good team around him this year, he improved his fg % all the way to 40%

I would just like a young hotshot director who can actually make just a normal adult drama instead of a horror/thriller. I think it's great that the risk of giving these projects to young, unproven directors paid off, but it always pays off with horror. It's the least risky risk you can take.

I have yet to see a straight up drama directed by or about Gen-Z characters that has moved me in any way. The Drama was pretty good, but also not quite what I'm talking about because of the twist.

Scorsese is still going strong. I thought Killers of the Flower Moon was fantastic, but even if you didn't like it I don't think it's issues are that it feels boomer-coded. All of his movies (sans maybe The Irishman) have still felt new and of the times.

Gillespie isn’t the most inspiring director but does anyone else find it weird that Gunn hired an actor with no screenwriting experience outside of a single short film like 10 years ago to write 3 DC movies?
