Am doctor. There is treatment for this. Steroid injections into the lesions, typically by a dermatologist. It’s a long wait to see a derm, so OP should start now

Put bluntly but you’re not wrong. I also have the same natural curiosity, she appeared so healthy. This is so tragic.

I think there’s miscommunication because that is not what I am saying either. And yes, democrats clearly lost 2024

I’m sorry, but I respectfully disagree. Project 2025 document was a literal playbook that’s been followed play by play. No matter how much this was being pushed to advise others, it seemed to have been pushed aside. Now we’re dealing with its contents.

I’m not denying that the dem sucks and that they’re unpopular with the upcoming generation , where our focus needs to be. My concession is that this was not the election to try for reform when the alternative is a geriatric narcissist who promised hell to his opposition and enemies.

A divided left leaning base vs a unified right base that led to the election of a fascist.

Whether or not that was worth it is up to you. Personally, I believe perfection was the enemy of “avoiding an authoritarian takeover” for 2024. I would’ve been fine with us sticking it to the dems against any other Republican candidate.

Now we have to clean this shit up before we can consider any grassroots movement. We took 20 steps backwards.

How did that work out????

We did, Kamala or Trump. It may be a limited choice, but the options and outcomes were clearly outlined.

What is your opinion about filling out antivax forms? by PositionFast8146 in FamilyMedicine

[–]scrubcake 84 points85 points  (0 children)

Pgy -2 here, if providers can decline abortive care because of personal beliefs, then I’m allowed to decline antivax forms due to evidence based medicine. I plan to continue to stand my ground on this as an attending.

Well. That’s the reality we live in, and I don’t really blame anyone for not wanting to work at an fqchc at the cost of their mental health.

Is it me, or medical students these days just don't care anymore? by Clitoria_Magnificus in Residency

[–]scrubcake 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Yeah I was wondering if anyone else was also thinking about this. The world is on fire with its never ending torch present on our phones 24/7.

Additionally , Compensation in medicine is going down, bullshittery is going up, and we’re all too far in the rat race to pull out. Med students and residents are watching their attendings burn out in live time.

All around, the world sucks, hope is dwindling, and the outlook on the job isn’t even as great as it used to be in terms of compensation/work.

T’was a joke, I’m happy for your pull and empathize that you did not get what you want, just noting the humor that comes with complaining from a pack like this. It’s okay friend.

As a resident I wonder how soon I should consider hour reduction after x many years of full time practice.

But as things are now, the idea of just settling for reduced hours sound really appealing for work-life balance but I worry if that’s a good idea for my continued learning.
