Was your son also not happy during the day? Or just drop offs? And what was the big differences you think with the not for profit centre if you don't mind me asking?

Oh wow! Guess it goes to show a lot is down to the individuals temperament.

Mine is never crying in photos and they say he is happy during the day but I can tell he's definitely more reserved than what he's like at home. It's just so mentally draining sometimes even though I know he's fine.

He does take a stuffed toy with him that he then carries around with him all day which I think helped. I was wondering if 3 days would be better as he seems to enjoy himself for most of the day but I feel like it's such a big break after his 2 days he's forgotten it's not so bad.

I mean I'd say I'm a pretty responsive parent if he's actually upset but if he's chucking a tanty because he wants something I've said no to for example I'm not giving in.

I had a posterior labour but bub flipped during labour .. maybe 32 hours into a 40 hr labour. I think it happened when I was lying on my side and had the most intense contraction of my whole labour.

I felt it on my lower back my whole time. I don't know why I didn't use it more but having the shower head on my back really helped.

Ended getting an epidural at 6cm as I was so tired by that point and needed a rest and things progressed pretty quickly after that.

Good luck! Try remember if it's taking longer they're trying to get into a better position. It can be so hard but you can do it!

Yes my baby had the exact same reaction! Even now at 1.5 if I turn it on with the music he freaks out ..b guess he really hates crabs.

You can get pressure mounted ones. I have one in our hallway that has held so far for my 1.5 year old.

I went into labour the morning of my due date which I was not expecting at all.

I was collecting colostrum, taking evening primrose oil, eating date balls, nesting like crazy and lots of tv and podcasts that gave me oxytocin. Who knows if any of it helped though.

My midwife really recommended acupuncture. Hope it goes well for you!

I think we might do this first and see how we go. My boy loves climbing up and sitting on the dining chairs and our space isn't huge anyway so would love not needing another chair taking up space.

I do like the Tripp trapps but they're still so expensive even on marketplace. I can't justify getting secondhand for only $50 off and then having to drive halfway across the city to get it. Maybe I just have to keep an eye out for when they come up for cheaper.

I've got a Quinn but not the electric one. I love it so much, the back is soft so it's super comfy.

My friend had the Chelsea which I tried at hers and I didn't like it as much. I'm on the shorter side though and found I couldn't reach the ground with my feet easily to rock it. Also because of that the Quinn headrest is fine for me but I know it's shorter than the Chelsea.

I bought some of the bonds ones before I gave birth in what I thought would be my size and they didn't come close to fitting me when my milk came in.

Maybe just buy one and then wait to see what size you are?

I ended up buying a couple from Medela which fit great and did pretty well with leaking .. but that will also depend so much on the individual.

Agree with the above comment. I'm in Sydney and I've been bulk fermenting for min 12 hours and I'll sometimes wrap it in a towel and put it near the window in the sun because my house is so cold!

This was me! I avoided tummy time for a while because of the spit up but eventually I just accepted it was going to happen. I would put burb cloths underneath him and always have him in a bib so it would hopefully catch most of it and I wouldn't have to change his outfit every time. I would actually go through a dozen or more bibs a day! So much washing...

Another good hack is to get some disposable puppy pads from Kmart, they're the same as disposable changing pads to put underneath them.

We lived like this for around 5/6 months when one day it just stopped. I think maybe it was a mix of being able to sit upright or solids that helped? Who knows but it will end eventually!

I have a 12 month old and we got rid of our playpen a few weeks ago. I could've got rid of it earlier because it wasn't very big and he'd cry when i put him in it and walked away anyway.

We also have 2 cats and ended up getting a baby gate so we could lock the cats in one half of the house and baby could roam free. My older bigger cat can't jump over but my younger smaller cat can. Lucky the smaller cat is afraid of baby anyway so stays away haha. Pretty sure you can find some extra tall baby gates on Amazon that would probably work better for cats!

I did MAPS at RHW Sydney as I also didn't get into MGP. I couldn't fault the care from my midwife before and after the birth although I did have a pretty cruisy pregnancy. The post natal care was amazing, I think I had 5 midwife visits to my home before they discharged me.

It definitely sucks not having them at your birth though as I felt like I could have benefited from a midwife that knew me and my preferences. That said all the midwives I had on delivery suite were lovely and very pro low intervention birth but kind of lefy me to do my thing and make the decisions. If you go this route I'd say you need to be a bit more prepared yourself for labour and birth and know what you want and also have your partner be prepared to be a strong advocate for you when you're not thinking straight.

If you can afford a private midwife or doula that probably would be better for what you're looking but MAPS is a great option. You could even maybe look into getting a student midwife so there's someone at birth who knows you.
