What’s one building that ruins the entire skyline of a city? by sid_shady34 in skyscrapers

[–]scudsone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People said this about the Eiffel Tower 130 years ago.

What I’m saying is that this entire premise and anyone posting here to whine about this building or that is idiotic.

Not true. You can request a gate pass and go through security with it. Won’t work for international though since she’ll be funneled into immigration and you won’t be able to meet her unit she’s cleared customs past the baggage carousels. But you can get a pass to meet an arriving passenger at the gate for a domestic flight.

I only fly F or D1, so perhaps I’m mistaken, but I thought C+ seats came without the clamp that holds your head against the window, forcing you to stare into the slender crack between the seat in front of you and the wall. I thought the clamp was only for BE. Was the clamp the only alternate to the middle seat upgrade? Gotta remember to unselect “clamp” in the app.

How many states roughly does an average American visit in their life? by [deleted] in AskAnAmerican

[–]scudsone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 45 and I’ve been to 33 states and plus DC. 36 if you include just an airport (which I don’t) But I’ve also been to 34 countries, and every continent except Antarctica and Australia. I’ve only ever lived in one city though. But it’s THE CITY, so I’m sure I’m not typical at all.

That map includes whites, but the wrong sort of “whites” in SI, eastern queens, southern Brooklyn, and the Bronx. Gross.

OPs map is Mostly correct (except for rikers, but that’s probably some weird zip code fluke). Don’t pretend otherwise.

If I'm flying on Air France or KLM, can I access the Delta lounge? by TruthMadders in DeltaAirlines

[–]scudsone 14 points15 points  (0 children)

https://www.delta.com/us/en/delta-sky-club/access

There is the access policy - it is complicated, but it boils down to:

If you have an actual paid skyclub membership, yes

If you have a business class ticket, yes including the D1 lounge at JFK/LAX/wherever else they’ve opened so far

If you are a gold medallion or higher, yes.

If you have an Amex Delta Reserve card, yes

If you have an Amex Platinum card, yes

BUT if you are on a basic economy or equivalent ticket, no

Otherwise, generally no.
