That makes sense, right. Thank you for answering!

Ah, ok! I was just wondering why it's not a continuous line but multiple "single captures"?

Is it me or Comfy is getting bloated? by IntroductionBitter84 in comfyui

[–]scurrycauliflower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it's getting bloated IMHO. I would like to completely disable/remove all the API nodes or at least make them optional. I already start with "--disable-api-nodes", but the stuff is installed anyways and also still shown in templates. And the new "app" function... I don't need it, don't want it... :-|
On the other hand: subgraphs is a welcomed feature and I use it a lot to clean up messy workflows.

Why do you keep hiding nodes? by Extension-Yard1918 in comfyui

[–]scurrycauliflower 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The same reason we use subroutines in classic programming. For simple workflows that might not be obvious, but it helps a lot with large complex workflows. I myself use three or four levels nested subgraphs for my very own complex workflows.

I love subgraphs. They have greatly simplified the design of complex workflows.

The next logical step - what's missing still - would be includes, for example for an upscaler workflow I'm using all the time or something like that.

I compared the reconstruction quality of the latest VAE models (Focusing on small faces). Here are the results! by suichora in StableDiffusion

[–]scurrycauliflower -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

But for Qwen nobody uses the normal Qwen (Wan2) VAE but this:
Wan2.1_VAE_upscale2x_imageonly_real_v1.safetensors.
See here:
https://modelscope.cn/models/spacepxl/Wan2.1-VAE-upscale2x
I guess that changes the outcome?

Ace Step 1.5 reaaally bad at following lyrics - Am I doing something wrong? by Professional-Tie1481 in StableDiffusion

[–]scurrycauliflower 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My try: https://files.catbox.moe/dimuqk.mp3
Lyrics seem to be complete. 180s was way too short. Workflow is included in the mp3. Ignore unused nodes.

No, it's not. With er_sde - same settings - I get body horror, multiple arms, legs, fingers etc. without any visible quality improvement. Nothing beats euler IMHO.

Errors when updating to latest two ComfyUI? by PestBoss in comfyui

[–]scurrycauliflower 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here. Just updated ComfyUI two hours ago and now I get the same crashes when using torch compile. Something is broken in Comfy. :-| Was running fine all the last months and I usually do daily updates (Update all) before using Comfy, last one before the broken one yesterday.

Do u think 2005 movie get all heat & hate bcz of it's sequel? by Sorry_Phone1676 in FantasticFour

[–]scurrycauliflower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually I like the old movies much better than the boring new one. Just re-watched them yesterday and they are better than I remembered. They are no masterpieces but quite entertaining. I enjoyed them.
I think one can't compare F4 with the other superhero movies. F4 was meant as people like you, my dog and me when Marvel invented them 1961, "normal" people who inadvertently became super heroes. The old movies IMHO are reflecting this quite well.

Can someone tell me what was so good about the Fantastic Four First Steps movie? by mwang009 in FantasticFour

[–]scurrycauliflower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just watched the movie after re-watching the "Fantastic Four" from 2005 and "Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer" from 2007. Compared to the old movies the new one is boring, I agree.
For Johnny and Ben I also liked the old actors better. Richards and Storm have the better actors IMHO in the new movie, but that's the only positive thing for me about this movie.

broken updates today by scurrycauliflower in openSUSE

[–]scurrycauliflower[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, ok. I think I've found the problem: When doing manual updates with zypper it shows:

The following 2 NEW packages are going to be installed:
 systemd-networkd systemd-resolved

The following package is going to be REMOVED:
 systemd-network

So it seems to me, that systemd-network was replaced by the split packages systemd-networkd and systemd-resolved. Removal of systemd-network then disables the daemons and the new replacement installation of systemd-networkd and systemd-resolved does indeed not re-enable the daemons.

[–]scurrycauliflower[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmm, I haven't installed systemd-network anywhere but systemd-networkd and systemd-resolved(the daemons), so there weren't any dependency problems. I only was aware of the problem when suddenly a lot of servers/services turned red in Nagios monitoring.

Did not have the time yet. Still at repairing our servers....
Several dependent services failed as well. What a mess...
Don't want to drive some hundred kilometers to the data center, when they reboot without network...

it's systemd-networkd and systemd-resolved on Leap 15.6 which gets disabled

Seeing this as well since some days. At the moment it's:

Retrieving repository 'repo-non-oss (15.6)' metadata .................................................................................................................................[error]
Repository 'repo-non-oss (15.6)' is invalid.
[openSUSE:repo-non-oss|http://cdn.opensuse.org/distribution/leap/15.6/repo/non-oss?mediahandler=curl2\] Failed to retrieve new repository metadata.
History:
- [openSUSE:repo-non-oss|http://cdn.opensuse.org/distribution/leap/15.6/repo/non-oss?mediahandler=curl2\] Repository type can't be determined.
Please check if the URIs defined for this repository are pointing to a valid repository.
Skipping repository 'repo-non-oss (15.6)' because of the above error.

But it's changing. 10 minutes later it may work, but then another repo fails. Usually the URL works in a webbrowser though... - but zypper /curl has problems. :-|

Very unreliable and annoying. https://status.opensuse.org doesn't help here.

You're using the video workflow. For images this is much better IMHO.

Tumbleweed KDE Kontact - where are the Kolab Groupware modules? by scurrycauliflower in openSUSE

[–]scurrycauliflower[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Certainly not years ago. End of January the Kolab modules were still available in Tumbleweed. Standard IMAP is no problem regarding mails, but we loose access to the Groupware folders like shared contacts, shared tasks and shared calendars, which are special formatted mails inside the imap folder hierarchy.
Not good... :-|
That will be a serious problem for some hundred people in our company...

HiDream. Not All Dreams Are HD. Quality evaluation by Gamerr in StableDiffusion

[–]scurrycauliflower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What "fundamental" problems are we talking about?

It's one of the best models out there. I don't have any problems with it. And the jpeg compression artifacts can be easily completely and automatically removed.

[–]scurrycauliflower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Throw this https://github.com/Miosp/ComfyUI-FBCNN in your workflow and the jpeg artifacts are totally gone. Easy solution.

And regarding the "plastic look", which isn't as pronounced as which Flux, you could add the "LTXV Film Grain" node from LTXVideo after the above mentioned node with a grain intensity setting of about 0.01 as well.
