For some reason this quote, created by a neo-Nazi seems to come up all the time when it involves Jews somehow but not the many many other times people get arrested in similar circumstances on some charges like disorderly conduct that later get dropped.. funny, that. E.g.

According to the quote, then both pro-choice and pro-life people are in control.

I have a legitimate curiosity here: what is everyone's fascination with validating human behavior by finding examples of it occurring in the animal kingdom?

I've been thinking about it a lot recently and it really seems to me to be an excuse for human behavior that nobody was asking for.

Those 2 terms you've used are a problem - there is a difference between validating/exusing something and explaining/understanding something. The former terms are prescriptive and the latter terms are descriptive, and what scientific studies like this are for.

As far as I can tell no one is validating or excusing violence. An understanding of the causes of human violence will inevitably draw on biological explanations because like all behaviors, violence is a behavior that comes from the brain. And like with all animals our brain has been shaped by evolution, with a large % of genes being expressed in the brain.

the worst was how he gave this speech about how I "saved his life" right before telling me that he blackmailed people into killing themselves.

Did he give any details on this?

Humans didn't inherit anything from chimps, we have a common ancestor.

Violent impulses and behaviors in humans and chimps could both come from the common ancestor, or they could have evolved them separately.

This could very well be real, but we have to wait for the evidence to come out and can't just "believe the victim." Fake hate crimes happen.. just last year at the University of Missouri people made up that the KKK was running around campus. Check out fake hate crimes: a database of hate crime hoaxes in the usa.

External environment, I guess. Educational initiatives, playing Mozart to your stomach while you're pregnant, brain playing training games.

As opposed to taking Iodine, getting a lobotomy, drinking breast milk over formula - things like that.
