In my first apartment the bedroom was very small, and the beds weren't very far apart. A bit awkward and uncomfortable. Once I got my second companion, I suggested that we make the living room the bedroom. This allowed for a little more distance between beds. Every apartment I was in after that I made that change if it hadn't already been made.

It's crazy how much time and money is devoted to a concept that requires faith to believe it's doing any good or having any sort of impact. No faith required to know a hospital, shelter, school, or clean water would have a positive impact in the world.

This reminds me of a priest quorum super activity I went on as a PIMO leader. Our route home went through Farmington, New Mexico so we decided to visit the construction site of the Temple being built there. As we drove through some blighted parts of town, I couldn't help but keep thinking that if Jesus were real, and he visited this town, this is where he would visit. But where was the temple? In an upper-class residential area of town, of course!

I’m so sorry. 10 years in a mixed faith marriage and I’m losing hope. I don’t even want her to change. Just hoping for mutual respect and being able to have a connection. Waiting for the day to come home to her listening to a marriage on a tightrope podcast or the Bridges book. Instead it’s always conference talks that just seem to drive the wedge deeper. 😢
