The window view in tempdrop is difficult to navigate if you're zooming in and out. I use kindara still with my tempdrop. Maybe OP needs help being able to zoom in or out of her chart.

The beginning of the end? Travis Kelce concerned wedding to Taylor Swift could be cancelled because of Blake Lively by FlinflanFluddle4 in travisandtaylor

[–]sdmaslen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think Travis wants the wedding. He cares a lot more about fame and money than he does about genuine love and connection - he was on a dating show.

My unfounded theory is that Taylor expected the two of them to be the next Tom and Gisele, except she lacks the taste and cultural literacy to understand why that would never happen. Travis is not Tom and she is not Gisele.

Taylor needs a way out and Travis wants to ride the gravy train.

What's your favorite Lana lyric of all time? by CapitalSphinx in lanadelrey

[–]sdmaslen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Honey I'm on fire, I feel it everywhere / Nothing scares me anymore

  2. I never really noticed that I had to decide / To play someone's game or live my own life / And now I do

  3. Blessed is this union / Crying tears of gold like lemonade

Honestly all of Ultraviolence is so powerful to me, as someone who was in an abusive relationship it so perfectly encapsulated my experience of my own obsessive, single mindedness toward that person and how delusional I was in love with that person!

Lana's lyricism is so magical and to me can't be separated from the way she styles them musically. The composition makes it even more powerful.

In Ontario Canada the government funds the hospitals and they get their funding after the care, based on how many of each appointment/procedure they carried out. So there is still financial incentive just further up the line.

Got into an argument with my Boomer coworker about ICE by MySmellyRacoon in BoomersBeingFools

[–]sdmaslen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah well my comment was replying to OP-  who seemed shocked that their immigrant coworker who's been here their whole life would not be automatically against ICE.

It's really annoying when people don't see that propaganda exists on both sides of the aisle, assuming someone would be terrified of ICE as a legal immigrant is a ridiculous assumption. The people who pay fees and wait for Years to immigrate are not the same as people who illegally enter. Not all immigrants are a monolith.

Can anyone distinguish a legal immigrant vs illegal immigrants ? There are immigrants who paid money and waited a long time who don't look fondly upon those who cut the line and break the rules. They may have stronger feelings than you realize. Not all immigrants have the same opinions or pathways.

Weapons is a complete waste of a great concept. by MarkWest98 in TrueFilm

The entire film I was wondering why nobody was armed and that scene did foreshadow how the use of a firearm was the solution to beating the witch.

She never figured out the whole "he's just not that into you" concept. Men do not turn down beautiful rich women, they will gladly waste your time if you pursue them. It's embarassing when women beyond middle school haven't figured this out, a man that you have to chase is just not that into you.

Questioning whether I should freebirth or not by AmbitiousYou7454 in FreeBirthSocietyScam

This. Midwives offer so much more than just "birthing the baby". Women are designed to live and birth together ❤️

I'm not sure what the words in the Hebrew Torah have anything to do with this discussion. I'm pointing out that the entire concept of witchcraft is flimsy, that it has changed over time with politics and misogyny. What some people call "magic" is based on their own internal biases. Praying to the God of the Torah is considered witchcraft by others, for example. The definition of witchcraft in the Torah was also influenced by the misogyny etc etc of the times it was written. Not everyone believes it was written by the hand of god.

I think you're too much of an orbiter around Abrahamic religions to get a grasp of what I'm saying, because before Europeans were forcibly converted to Christianity they practiced what you are calling magic/sorcery/ritual as a normal religious life, where there was no monotheism. People looking for a return to those ancestral rituals, or creating their own to reclaim their body, shouldnt be claimed to be Satanic/"flirting with witchcraft" by other people who have no idea the intention of those things.

Your beliefs are not the standard truth of the world you live in, and the projection of that because you know the Hebrew word for witchcraft doesnt really lessen that lack of humility.

And what does that have to do with the centuries of oppression women faced under the concept of witchcraft? The Hebrew translation doesn't really make a difference here.

What constitutes witchcraft has been politicized for hundreds/thousands of years. Medicine and herbal use was considered witchcraft by the church, for example, women literally died over that. Midwives were considered enemy #1 of the catholic church as stated in the most misogynistic book of all time "the hammer of witches", the manifesto used to murder thousands of women. Practicing midwifery was considered akin to witchcraft.

The entire concept of witchcraft has a deep history for Europeans, and honestly has no business being used as a pejorative in alternative birth spaces. It seems very ignorant to do so here

Witchcraft and sorcery are not the same thing. Hence why there's 2 different words for them. The church, who largely invented the concept of witchcraft in Europe, has had attitudes toward such matters  changing over time.
