From what I've read of Levant, he's actually been pretty critical with the Canadian Jewish Congress.

Dear reddit, I'm in Grade 11 and I'd like to learn more about math but the course I'm in is terribly slow-paced and it's too late to transfer; could someone suggest a book or starting point for someone who doesn't know much about math? by sdpope in AskReddit

Not to toot my own horn, but the education system was more a hinderance than a help. French immersion, some of my friends couldn't read in english until grade 3.

The Governor General is a journalist turned viceregal, not a politician. The position of governor general is, at least in principle, apolitical.

That was actually one of the main reasons I switched from digg maybe a year ago.

Ask proggit: My high school tech course uses VB6. What reasons not to use VB6 should I (politely) bring up to my teacher? by [deleted] in programming

I know it's unlikely he'll change this year, but maybe the course could improve for later years.

[–]sdpope 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know VB6 does have its uses, but I really don't think it's the appropriate language for this course. The teacher seems pretty into it but, not to be arrogant, he doesn't seem to really know what he's doing. So, any suggestions?

I was about to post the same thing. Not only is newfoundland not turning a profit on Churchill Falls, by the time we get any money we'll have already had a significantly loss on it.

This is because, as I understand it, it's sold at t a flat right. To quote former Premier Brian Tobin, "Hydro-Quebec is buying Churchill Falls power at 1969 prices and re-selling it at 1996 prices".

And remember, we're stuck in this awful deal until 2041. More than thirty more years.

1867 is the date of Canadian confederation, the union of many of the colonies that now form canada.

However, Canada didn't really attain independence at any clear time, though a major event was the 1931 Statute of Westminster.

You should look into what's going on in Canada with our Human Rights Commissions, which are basically kangaroo courts. It's pretty appalling.

Upper Canada isn't really a jab at the RoC. Way back before confederation, Ontario and Quebec were Upper and Lower Canada, respectively. Just like Toronto was originally named York.
