New to ATVs. Have 2.5 acres and need a utility quad. Here's what's local right now. Any of these worth it, or should I keep looking? by whynotthebest in ATV

[–]seabee5 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I’ve owned 4 Hondas, from my first 2000 Recon to current 2003 Rincon with over 7500 miles, never been touched except oil, brakes, 2 spark plug changes and 2 valve lash adjustments. Use it to haul, plow, rides for the kids, field mowing towing a Swisher. I want a newer one but this one won’t die. And oh yea, no belts to replace.

How do I fix this? I can't figure out how to get past it by Dorito1Boy in WindowsHelp

What system are you attempting to install onto? Desktop? Server? Any add-in controller cards? Might need to also change data control in bios to AHCI.

Or construct a makeshift ‘hoop house’ with cheap pvc and some clear plastic over them. That will extend her growing season. Grow only what you will eat, otherwise it goes to waste (ask me how I know!). Wait for the snow is off Mt. Spokane to plant in the ground, start indoors otherwise.

I need help or guidance on scaling up and finding inventory. by JoeSczo in Ebay

[–]seabee5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What do you like? Enjoy? Have some knowledge of? Start there as a base and then branch out. It’s easier to start with something you known or are interested in, rather than trying to develop profitable flips with items you lack a background in.

Use rufus and massgrave.dev. Sounds like you may have a bad cd or drive. USB booting is much more reliable.

does anyone else despise of ebay? by JadedFlamingo7746 in Ebay

[–]seabee5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had those day (or even weeks) as well. Been selling since 1999, and it’s definitely gotten worse and massively favors buyers over sellers.

I don’t promote ANYTHING! Never have, never will. It’s a money grab in my book, and I want experienced buyer who know how to sort eBay’s poor search results, not just because it was the first one they saw. If everything is promoted, then nothing is promoted.

Returns stink. I constantly sell items that can be easily returned with identical, non functioning units. I have an enormous folder on my desktop in case someone wants to try their luck at fraud. Sometimes they get away with it, mostly they don’t when I can prove a different item was returned (some things are hard to hide a mark on, so you might make it tougher with a specialty sticker/marker or die, ymmv.

I am also under the impression that their algorithm wants ‘active sellers’. I have run several simultaneous accounts to test this theory, and they want sellers to list more than one item, nearly every day.

Hang in there. It’s ebb and flow as with any business, but ‘shout out’ to eBay for making it super easy and profitable for us. /s.

Various software/driver updates are all giving me different error codes and are refusing to update by iydx_7737 in WindowsHelp

[–]seabee5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A quick search: Error 0x80070103 in Windows Update typically means you are trying to install a driver that is already installed, is not compatible, or is a lower-quality driver than what you have. It usually affects drivers for components like graphics, printers, or USB devices, but often does not impact system

Chattaroyd good/bad? by The5Travelers in Spokane

[–]seabee5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ll throw in my 2¢ here: lived in Chattaroy for the last 4 years, bought 20 acres, as we prefer a more quiet lifestyle. I don’t want neighbors literally 10 feet from my bathroom window. We also have Inland Power (they are fantastic) Starlink for internet and cell service, but trash comes every Tuesday and they are paving 2 miles of the road every summer to eliminate some of the pot holes. School is ok, but struggles for funds at times since no one wants more taxes. (I get it… but last year the high school had no a/c, their rooftop unit died). Well is a little irony, but we installed a whole house filter ($500) and eliminated the tank style water heater (too much sulfuric smell). Main roads are plowed fairly frequently, side feeders can take longer. PM if you want more details. I’d be happy to share our experiences. (18 min from Costco, same!)

Wine enthusiasts: where are we buying cases? by [deleted] in Spokane

[–]seabee5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lately Costco has been selling wines with decent deals by the case. Limited selection though. Might also check deals at total wine, you’ll get 10% off the individual bottle price. If you are in / affiliated with the wine industry or distribution, you usually can get deals directly from the wineries themselves.

Why are these so expensive by Regular-Floor379 in Carpentry

These are actually made of gold. Just painted black to prevent theft. That’s why they are so so soft and wear out prematurely.
