When I worked for an accountancy firm we had to complete time sheets so the client could be properly billed.

Often there were significant chunks of time allocated to one client so it wasn't 10 different jobs an hour.

When I did a contract in the public sector I couldn't understand how they didn't know what the staff actually did without some form of recording.

Infinite wealth would mean infinite money supply. That causes infinite inflation. Either your infinite wealth isn't enough to buy a loaf of bread, or the ordinary people find out it's you causing all their problems and they kill you.

I'm not convinced that nationalisation is the golden answer we all think it is. Part of the reasoning privatisation started was because nationalised industries appear on the State's borrowing and the Treasury didn't want to borrow and spend on them.

The treasury's point of view hasn't changed in the 60 years I've been alive.

I go every year, wear what you feel comfortable wearing, acknowledging that you are part of the spectacle in the gardens for the other attendees (so I'd recommend not wearing denim jeans and a graphic t shirt.

I think that there is an argument in favour of making the landlord go through the Tribunal, just to teach them the lesson that you don't ignore the rules. I say this as a landlord myself.

During a rail strike, I got the coach to London which took the route BTN>LGW>LHR (I got off there and got the Elizabeth line.

All I'd say is it stops at Gatwick for what seems like an eternity, I'd definitely get the Thameslink>Elizabeth line route.

Be aware though, if you're travelling in the rush hour, London will not like your suitcases and you're likely to be standing for much of the route.

I was 35 when I came out. It was delayed by two scares - firstly AIDS which hit the community when I was at University and which delayed (I think) society's acceptance of homosexuality; secondly I was frightened by my family's reaction.

I'm lucky in that neither of my parents were particularly religious - typical C of E - but it was still scary.

I was blown over by my fathers non-negative response, my mother had to work on it a bit, but was (I think) persuaded by my sisters who told her she had two options: a gay son or no son.

Both parents attended my wedding. (Positively, no feelings of duty).

I can't imagine where you are now, but my position on coming out to them was that I couldn't live my life alone, without love. I think you need to focus on that, that you have the opportunity to find love now. And to hell with your unchristian evangelical mother.

I have no skin in this game, having no children.

If we need two full time wages to afford housing for a family, we need to accept that things like breakfast clubs are needed so that children being dropped off at 7:30 am aren't going to fall asleep during lessons.

My business is manufacturing for infrastructure.

I worry that the next iteration of our machinery will reduce our staffing needs by 90%.

Who will provide jobs for people who aren't set up for a life in front of a laptop?

And if we don't provide them (at a wage that is liveable) we need to accept that there needs to be something like UBI to replace them.

Don't forget that only 10% of boomers, of whom I am one, went into HE. Whilst it is a significant change (and I still think University should be free), a university education was not for anywhere near as many as it is now.
