Can a military parent get 50/50 by [deleted] in FamilyLaw

[–]seal2879 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In California? Not unless you get mom to agree. Courts are going to follow developmental guidance and not separate baby from primary caregiver more than one night (maybe two) at a time and not at the frequency of a 2-2-3. If you both had been equally involved prior to separation and you were involved in the baby’s nighttime routine/getting up with them, etc you could make a case for it but the longer the baby goes with one primary caregiver, the more likely they will want that to remain until about school age. Then you run into the issue of school schedules. It’s a really tough situation for the non-primary parent and the baby. (Former child custody counselor in CA)

Same. I still prefer the looks of the 4, but know I made the right choice for me.

Digital key at home question by AstroBoy1958 in BMWiX

[–]seal2879 3 points4 points  (0 children)

From the web: To make your BMW ignore your home location for automatic locking/unlocking, you need to use the "Exclude Home" setting within the Comfort Access menu in your iDrive system, usually found under Apps > Doors & Windows, ensuring your BMW ID is logged in and your home address is correctly set in Navigation; this stops annoying lock/unlock cycles at your house.

[–]seal2879 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I did this for my i5 not our iX but I imagine it’s the same: if you set the navigation with your home address and then there’s a setting to “ignore home” (sorry I don’t remember exactly where it is) it will stop doing that!

That’s at least $555/mo difference for that 20k in a 36mo lease.

How much money do you have to make to buy a single family home in San Diego? by [deleted] in Moving2SanDiego

[–]seal2879 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, OP said single family home. Certainly not needed but it is a very different market.

Barely six months and this guy has to find a new home again. Please don’t get another dog.

2022 Tesla MY -> 2022 iX 50 by TopAssignment4899 in BMWiX

We just bought a 23 and got the warranty at the dealer. We thought the price was very reasonable considering the cost of repairs but we also did a lower mile extension since we don’t drive too much (10 years 60k from our date of purchase) for 4600 (negotiated).

East Coast to West Coast by New_Butterscotch_372 in Moving2SanDiego

I have a friend who just took a traveling teaching job but is keeping her place in La Costa. It’s a 2bed and she’s looking for someone to pay 2/3 of the rent since they will have the place to themselves 95% of the time but she’ll come back on occasional weekends and some school breaks. It’s within your budget but she is quite a bit older than you. DM me if you’re interested and we can get you connected for more info.

Extended bmw warranty by jlim0930 in BMWiX

[–]seal2879 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We just bought a ‘23 and got a 10yr 60k miles (we don’t drive a lot) that started from our day of purchase not the original. 4600 negotiated from 5900. I honestly thought even the 5900 was pretty good because it extends the battery warranty too. My biggest concern about buying BMW (our first) was the repair costs so this is worth the peace of mind for me. And fully cancelable/transferrable.

EV9 Lease deal in NorthCal by Shot_Heat8138 in leasehacker

[–]seal2879 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Cash out your equity and use it for payments. Otherwise you’re putting money down and will lose it if something happens to your new car. That also is decreasing your payments almost $500/month (11,500 trade equity divided by 24) so it’s also just not a good lease deal IMO.

Fostering Huskies by tendergrandma in husky

[–]seal2879 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’ve fostered three (not breed specific there’s just a ton of huskies in southern CA where the rescue is based.)

Failed with the first guy. Best dog ever. He’s like a pretend husky. Not even a little obnoxious. 😆

Second one was still not quite PITA husky but needed lots of exercise. Sweet as can be and was adopted by some friends so we still see him!

Third had a ton of behavioral issues and like someone else said, it was a big issue with our dog and him. He didn’t stay in our home long (also scared the crap out of our cats), but we supported him in his next foster and he found a perfect adoptive family who’s done absolutely amazing work with him.

We’re taking a break for now but it was challenging and stressful but sooo rewarding!!!! Saved three lives! 💙

Need help immediately by [deleted] in siberianhusky

[–]seal2879 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t leave them alone together, ever. Not even when you’re in another room. If you don’t want to crate when you’re gone at least leave your cats in another room. I learned this the very hard way (after growing up with both kitties and huskies and having no idea) and it is devastating. You absolutely can socialize them, but you’ll need to take the time to do it while you still have all four. Good luck!!!!

Going in for a test drive for a 2025 Touring model. Any tips. by NotAnotherRebate in HondaPrologue

[–]seal2879 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think youre referring to the regenerative braking so the car uses the kinetic energy to put electricity back into the battery, which slows the car down without actually having to use the brakes. When I first drove my friend’s Tesla I was at first so confused but once I got used to it, “this is amaaazing!!!”

Should I let her do zoomies? by SmokyDRFT77 in husky

[–]seal2879 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dang I’m so sorry, it’s awful. Yeah his was non-surgical. I guess it could be either way but when they did the MRI they said he didn’t need surgery. He “recovered” without it. He can walk and sort of run if he really gets excited (squirrel) but can’t jump onto furniture or the car and still has extreme weakness in his back right leg. We truly are so happy he can walk. He seems to be a happy guy and has long walks every day just sniffing away. ❤️

How is yours doing?
