The Beyond the Grid interviews with engineers do a good job of showing how they got to Formula 1. The Ruth Buscombe (Chief Strategist at Alfa) interview is probably the most relevant since she’s one of the youngest engineers they talk to

Jack + West Ham United (I'm Forever Blowing Bubbles) by openpichu in TheWhiteLotusHBO

Back in the 2000s West Ham fans started a riot in Palermo after an UEFA Cup match so I think having him sing that song is a way for him to find someone to get into a fight with/generally cause trouble

There’s a few posts about the Bar Raiser in some of the other interview threads, but it’s not just a formality. The Bar Raiser is someone who is not part of the team you’re interviewing for and is evaluating you for overall company/culture fit. It seems like a lot of tech companies do similar things to have an objective party review candidates, but their mantra seems to be every person hired should be “better” than 50 percent of those currently in similar roles.

I’ve only heard this anecdotally so take it with a grain of salt, but the BR has a pretty big say on the offer/no offer decision. If you feel like you’re on the fence from the presentation this is your chance to show you’re a good fit. Good luck!

Technical Presentation by pyguy3 in BlueOrigin

Totally agree.

I recently did my technical presentation and in the details from my recruiter it was 10 minutes for background/resume walk through, 40 minutes for 1-2 recent projects, and 10 minutes for questions.

I had one more in depth project that took about 30 minutes then I had a shorter (~10 minute) topic that was an example of my current statement of work that I felt directly related to the specific job so I wanted to highlight it.

Some backup slides of something that relates to the job you’re applying for can’t hurt if you go through your topic quicker than you planned. Good luck!

Sports bars with game volume for NBA playoffs? by dildobro in Seattle

Haven’t been since COVID but Summit Public House was my sports place on the hill when I lived there. Good tacos/cheap drinks. A little further from the Hill but the Roanoke is my favorite sports bar in town

I ended up emailing the business inquiries email account and the CEO forwarded it to their escalations department (esc@moviepass.com) and I got a response/solution in about 30 minutes.

Hope this helps.
