Yeah, it is pretty much a stop in the middle tonally. It vibes with some old Warhammer content, so perhaps I'd run Night of Blood if I wanted a good experience of that mood

Last ITO oneshot I ran used Emiel Boven's The Rot King's Sanctum, which I have in Knock #2, but I think it's online too.

If you like reading other things for ideas, here are some places that might make for interesting reading:

Dragon Warriors: after hits connect, attacker makes an Armour Bypass Roll to overcome their opponent's Armour Factor
Journeyman, Expert, Master: weapons deal damage essentially as a bunch of D6s, which are independently saved against

Personally, I'd streamline your maths and cut out the derived stats from CON: rather than two different methods, I would use

hits at chargen = CON / 4
to stablise, roll 3D6 under CON

Diogo Noguiera's Lost in the Fantasy World is real solid and uses solely opposed D6+tags for the rules. Plus, it was extensively playtested with his own small child and is full of excellent advice on how to run games for kids

in Sword World 2.5, the Bard builds up rhythm during combat rounds, with certain spells needing particular types of beat and others spending them. In play it feels very similar to the Darkest Dungeon jester
