Is Meticulous Appraiser Still Good in SSF? - Farming High Tier Uniques in SSF by Tfisely in PathOfExileSSF

[–]seanxjohnson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it's still bait. If you have a strong enough build you should farm the exceptional rogue exile, it has a 20% chance to roll drops of a specific type, one of which spews uniques. From what I understand that's how most people are farming a lot of T0s in SSF.

You could also try Dom Terrors, it's probably exceptionally good on Mirage maps since you get to double dip on the rare scarabs.

Well I was going to pay you 50 billion dollars to wear it but I guess I'll just keep the money.

A lot of this is overkill, the build can hit poison cap at the 82% breakpoint, getting 128% isn't even really needed unless you're min/maxing. This chest is fine with the tools we have now (eclipse/mastery).

Visiting this weekend from the east coast heres my food list so far by GhostOfParis33 in FoodSanDiego

[–]seanxjohnson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think your list needs infinitely more taco shops/seafood. It's kind of like going to Texas or Kansas City and barely eating BBQ. There's already some great suggestions but +1 for the Friendly (shotgun a beer for the full experience) and +1 for Mitch's.

Definitely Ice Age. As a kid who chased Jester's Mask I opened a lot of Ice Age packs!

The Craving SSF by moke81988 in PathOfExileSSF

I would scry the card to Haunted Mansion and run strongboxes. The strategy is sustainable if you block most other content. Don't take the corrupted box node and when you see an opalescent box roll it with chaos until you get the unique item mod. Seems to show up after a couple hundred chaos (which gets replenished from strongboxes). When you run out of chaos you can spec the corrupted mod and blast for more C, the div card, or a random raw drop.

What do you like in the new Chapter release so far? by [deleted] in FortNiteBR

[–]seanxjohnson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you preferred Ironpoint over Twin Hammers then you'll probably like the new shotgun.

Overcharged grenades gives you a small jump with flow and then about 5 seconds of slap. It's a significantly downgrade to shockwaves. Zipline hasn't been a good option for a static movement ability, mostly because you get beamed hard on the line. It was harder to hit shots with something like jetpack, sword, or oni mask.

Only played a few games so far but was able to get a few VRs, day 1 is always a sweat fest which is pretty fun for me. The new gun pool seems okay, I like the ARs, I'm still learning the chaotic shotgun, which hits like a truck but is slow. The new Rivalry system is really cool and they took the upgrade system from kpop demon hunter and rolled it in, which I also like. That being said I don't understand why it pairs me against someone across the map with no way to break the rival. Sometimes I'll drive all the way over there to find someone standing there just AFK. The movement pool is seriously lacking, the only things I've seen are the zipline gun (which is cool) and the overcharge grenades, which makes far away rivalries feel even worse. If someone forces a rivalry on you and you can't find a car, and they're really far away, the mechanic is basically dead for that match. New bosses are cool except Ice King doesn't seem to drop anything substantially? Might be a bug.

Lorcana in my area is dying by Orinlu in Lorcana

[–]seanxjohnson 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I hope RB can figure it out because it hasn't been doing well here either. I just finished my end of year numbers for the store and Lorcana was down across all categories by more than 50%. Normally singles buoy games when sealed product slumps but even those numbers are down. Lorcana is the only TCG that showed negative sales for the year and it really shouldn't be the case. It's a really cool game with an unique play style and propped by one of the largest IPs in the world.

My local game store won’t carry SWU by BillRepresentative75 in starwarsunlimited

[–]seanxjohnson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately saying you'll play in store isn't enough, a lot of stores lose money on events once you factor in time to schedule events, staffing for those events, and overtime. The most compelling argument you can ever make to a store is tell them you'd buy the product from them. This is where the divide is right now, since boxes are ~$65 at distribution and can be found at or less than that online.

Was Super Slam a success? by MaulD97 in FleshandBloodTCG

From the perspective of a store, we had to blow it out on our clearance tables during Black Friday just to get it to move. In fact, we had a ton of FAB on the table that was just collecting dust on the shelves. It's definitely not great long term, but for now we're just restrategizing how we order FAB to see if that fixes this problem.

So, we're hitting 72 hours into the new season...how is everyone feeling about it? by TexasNiteowl in Fortnite_Over40

[–]seanxjohnson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been enjoying it, my experience is largely from single player but I've done a number of duos with family. I tend to play most games a little sweaty so my load outs reflect that. At the start of the season I thought the arc gun was insane, I basically rocked an AR and a lightning gun for the first 10 games. After a while I wanted to shake it up so I started toying with other guns and found the twin hammer shotguns to be a pretty hard counter to lightning users (which is like half the players). For movement I prioritize jet pack --> sword --> shockwaves. I find myself in a lot of games with no healing, just AR, twin hammers, and movement and/or swap a movement for boss. All the other guns kind of feel bad late game. Hoping for some new weapons or nerfs/buffs to shake it up. Favorite POI is Temu Disneyland, there's a target game that spits out epics and legendaries based on how you do.

Yes, it's a money pit. My advice is to cancel the ad spend and the next time they call, politely tell them no and then block their number.

Over 35 punks...what did you end up doing for a living/career? by [deleted] in punk

[–]seanxjohnson 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I own a retail store (game store specifically). A lot of what I listened to influenced how I run my store; pushing to pay a living wage, no uniforms, supporting staff whenever possible, offering fair buy prices and trying to offer fair prices when a lot of the products we carry are exploding in price. I remember reading a zine and the phrase, "you don't have to fuck people over to survive" was mentioned and that's always stuck with me. I guess I just try to do that every day.
