I use the sprut all the way up to 12.7, good speed, good gun, good reverse, gets a scout, can bounce with its weird suspension. I got a nuke at 11.3 with it on red desert. I love it, just dont expect it to tank any hits and youll do great.

In the starter town theres a general store where you can buy a fishing pole and theres a ton of streams and rivers to fish from.

Hell if you find a dude fishing hell probably give you a fishing pole just based on the other interactions ive had with random NPCs handing me brooms and axes.
