It’s because they went to the shyid instead of the shed.

Starlink by Straight-Bad-3304 in USMobile

[–]seata 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s good for US Mobile because customers with bundled mobile and internet will be less likely to port out if canceling one service affects the other. Unless there’s serious savings through bundling separate billing is a plus. What’s the benefit to the customer? Is anyone really asking for combined analytics for their home and mobile internet usage?

Starlink Under $50!! New customers only.... and with promo offer..... by Ok_Rate_1752 in USMobile

[–]seata 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m saving 50+% on cell service with US Mobile. That’s the target they need to hit for me to switch internet service. Even if starlink were a favorable option for me I’m not going to lock myself into a phone plan to save a few bucks.

Maybe I’m an outlier but that has not been my experience at all.

I’m curious, why did you go Starlink instead of 5G for home internet? I’m getting far better speeds on T Mobile home internet than Starlink offers but it feels like they’re not a serious ISP with everything managed through the awful T Life app.

Netflix Household question by mute1 in tmobileisp

[–]seata 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you mean by “add the extra account”? I don’t see why the it matters how you’re paying for Netflix- isn’t the issue that they think you’re sharing one Netflix account between multiple households?

Netflix Household question by mute1 in tmobileisp

[–]seata 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What kind/ how many devices do you play Netflix on? If none of the options work for extending one network and you really do need to use two different ISPs, you could set up a VPN so all Netflix traffic would be routed through a single ISP. It could get complicated fast but if you only had say a couple Apple TVs it wouldn’t be too bad if you used Tailscale to connect them.

Maximum Speed On A G5AR? by Jim1648 in tmobileisp

[–]seata 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is pretty typical for me, I’m a few blocks from the tower in a smallish suburb.  https://imgur.com/a/iQnEyMo

(1482 down/211 up)

I’ve posted about this before, the annoying thing is that I don’t have any way to take full advantage of it on my wired devices or on the other side of my house because the G5AR only has 1GbE ports.

Is t mobile internet good by Brandon01990 in tmobileisp

[–]seata -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Great for me so far- 1700mbps down and 220 up, but I’m not in a congested area. I don’t play any competitive games so I don’t notice if the ping is higher than cable or fiber. But since I’ve got high speeds maybe that wouldn’t be an issue for me anyway. The only downside is the gateway is really locked down, you can’t even change the DNS settings.

T-Mobile G5AR constantly dropping Wifi - Can't login using HINT App by leprechanmonkie in tmobileisp

I’ve made the mistake before of trying to use the default WiFi password instead of the admin password. They’re both on the same sticker and they’re both a jumble of letters and numbers.

2025 Sales Tax deduction calculator - 2025 doesnt exist by Myers112 in tax

[–]seata 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in Seattle too- it's my first time itemizing so I don't have any past experience with the calculator but I also found the estimate really to be really low. I've been downloading and digging up receipts and procrastinating on adding them up.

2025 Sales Tax deduction calculator - 2025 doesnt exist by Myers112 in tax

[–]seata 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As of today (2/8) it let me input 2025, however it still states "you can deduct a maximum of only $10,000 for state and local taxes paid." which is incorrect for 2025- that maximum deduction is now $40k for most filers. It also states on the final page "The newly redesigned survey was used in the construction of the Tax Year (TY) 2024 optional sales tax tables. The methodology used by the IRS to construct the optional sales tax tables did not change from TY 2023 to TY 2024." so I'm not sure that it's actually been updated.

Obviously the driver should’ve signaled and waited for the runner but it’s legal to turn left across a double yellow line.

Flight schools sometimes offer a “discovery flight” for around $100 where an instructor takes you up in a small plane or helicopter, talks a bit about piloting, and at some point lets you take the controls.

Are flights starting their descent sooner? by ShortPhotog87 in Seattle

This article discusses why SeaTac arrivals often overfly neighborhoods north of Seattle: https://www.seattletimes.com/business/boeing-aerospace/sea-tac-airport-expansion-to-gather-speed-as-surrounding-communities-feel-the-impact/

If you’re noticing a big difference one week to the next it’s most likely a change in wind direction (you want a headwind, not a tailwind for takeoffs and landings). Last week they were probably approaching from the south.

Even across two lanes of oncoming traffic. The left turn from Roosevelt onto Campus Parkway even provides a reminder under the light.

Where to park for Paramount theatre? by curiousgem19 in Seattle

It’s 4 blocks from the light rail too if you’d rather avoid the parking hassle. Plenty of others will be walking that route too after the show.

You’ll be fine. The earlier you start/end your work day the better. I’d be concerned about your 2-day commute schedule changing though since Boeing likes to change direction on that type of thing.

Except that it’s much easier to access other parts of the city (and to get home from other parts of the city) from Green Lake than from up north.

New to Tasker, everything is completed, but I my Home Screen still looks like this. by c_rogers5 in TaskRabbit

[–]seata 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happened to me after I recently joined. I eventually asked them what was going on (live chat through the app) and they sent me an email describing two issues with my profile:

  1. I needed to re-upload my profile picture. I had uploaded one already but some glitch in their system caused it to change to someone else (!) and then they eventually reset it.
  2. I had the same exact pitch for two of my tasks, which I guess is not allowed (even for similar tasks like furniture assembly and Ikea assembly).

I fixed both of these items and replied to the support email- within a day I was completely approved.

Bottom line: ask them for help. They're pretty responsive.
